"...Twenty years later Stoke were back at Wembley for the Autoglass Final against Stockport County.I commentated on the game from a box just to the right of The Royal Box.Mark Stein's goal settled the issue for Stoke. However,Tony Waddington, who was at the helmin 1972,had travelled down on a supporters coach from Clayton. After the game he approached the Radio Stoke team wondering how he was going to make his way back, because the supporters coach had departed without him.I was surprised that he hadn't been invited to the clubs celebratory Banquet in the evening....." "However, he hopped into our Radio Stoke car, and as we passed the convoy of coaches going home via the M1, Tony wound his window down and waved to them all...they all enjoyed waving back...." BLOODY SCANDALOUS AND SHOCKING !!

I saw him hobbling from the station to the Vic. The club didn't have the foresight to lay a car on for him.
Scandalous it is. To disregard our greatest manager is sickening.
