No-one expected us to be here in the Prem this year.
We would all have wondered at the start of the season if we would embarrass ourselves.
Who wouldnt have taken 20 points at this stage?
Dont fold folks enjoy the ride while were here whatever comes.
We proved earlier in the season what good support can achive.
Our team (squad) is so weak compared to others.
Rome wasnt built in a day.
If we go down we go down with a much stronger squad than ever and progreess made.
Now is not the time to iplode from the inside.
WE ARE STOKE

perspective: 2 objects far away appear to be closer together than they actually are, like our strikers when we attack the stoke end

Great post! Shame it will probably be on the receiving end of some criticism even though its trying to be positive! Our form hasn't been brilliant recently, but I ask what do people expect? Okay summer signings could have gone better ( see Hull) but everything is not lost ( see this January) so lets continue our great support and ignore the undercurrent of negativity on this board which is just baffling.

No one is knocking the achievment!
Some of you seem to think that's all we need strive for!
Where's your ambition?
We're playing crap football and getting stuffed by crap teams like Blackburn.
What shade of rosy are your specs?

Getting stuffed by crap teams like Blackburn???? As crap as they may be, on paper they have far better players than we have (Keith Andrews excluded) as does pretty much every other side...bar Albion. As for ambition..keeping Stoke up this season I think stayig up is as good as we should be aiming for, credit to teams like Hull, but I remeber Reading having blinder in there first season, quickly followed by the bump in there 2nd year.

everyone wants Stoke to stay up and pretty much everyone gets behind the team on match days. A lot of people can't just sit on their hands when they see idiotic team selection and tactics threatening that.

With players like: Pedersen Santa Cruz Mcarthy Roberts Dunn Derbyshire I think you overlooked the fact that they have finished in the top 10 for the last 3 years

Yeah well said Kev, spot on.
Some people on here wouldn't be satisfied with the moon on a stick!
I'm quite happy with where we are after 18 games. If you'd offered any Stokie that at the start of the season only the most deluded or those that know very little about football in the Premier League these days would have moaned.

If we finish in 17th and stay up by virtue of a goal difference of 1, I will be over the moon.

Rome wasnt built in a day. But it can be relegated in a year, lol. Good perspective though mate. 20 points at Christmas is far from crap. Could be worse, we could be Man City or West Brom. ;D

Whilst things are on the whole pretty good, I have to take some issue with some of the sentiments of this post I have to take issues with some of the sentiments of the post "Our team (squad) is so weak compared to others. Rome wasnt built in a day. If we go down we go down with a much stronger squad than ever and progreess made." We have spent 20 million pounds on numerous players and yet have terrible shortcomings in certain areas as was clearly demonstrated by the Blackburn game (ie why have we not once been linked with a full back since last summer?) Because of this I don't think we are in a position to assume that the squad we would have if relegated would be one that would be a strong bet for promotion. I bet the likes of Charlton, Southampton, Watford and the like assumed the same but they could be heading to Div 1. For those who say just "enjoy the ride" etc, one season in the premiership would not really be worth it if we suffered the decline such as they are seeing.

We're playing crap football and getting stuffed by crap teams like Blackburn. This is the problem. How are Blackburn a crap team? Might have been having a poor run under a novice manager but that doesn't make them crap. They have been in the PL for years and have spent many millions building and rebuilding a PL level squad. Look at some of their players: Robinson Emerton Santa Cruz McCarthy Pedersen Derbyshire Roberts How can that be a crap team? The sooner people realise that getting a squad up to PL standard takes a lot more than four months and £20 million the better.
