www.teamtalk.com/teamtalk/News/Story_Page/0,7760,758761,00.html I didn't realise Stoke have had icelandic players for the last ten years??? Is this right??? QUOTE : If the youngsters are successful in earning a deal it will restore Stoke's playing link with the Scandanavian nation, after the departure of Petur Marteinsson earlier this season brought an end to 10 years of Icelandic players featuring on the club's books.

Before Petur Marteinsson left we had gone through ten years of always having an Icelandic player on the books at Stoke.
It started with Toddy Orlygsson, carried through his cousin Larus Sigurdsson and then through the Icelandic takeover, until Petur's departure!

Talking about Toddy. Palmi and Johann are in KA and Toddy is in charge there! Another issue: For an Icelander it is always funny then Iceland is linked with Scandinavia like Teamtalk does in this story. That is wrong. Iceland belongs to the Nordic countries but not the Scandinavian countries. Scandinavia is the area where Norway and Sweden are and since Denmark has had influence in that area through the centuries Denmark is typically also counted in. Iceland is as much part of Scandinavia as Denmark is part of UK or Germany part of South Europe. There is no geographical connection between Iceland and Scandinavia but like Greenland, Faroe Islands, the Scandinavian countries and Finland we belong to the NORDIC countries.
