Hi all,
Neutral fan taking a bit an interest here. Posted on this forum back in about August time and at the time when SCFC was receiving all kinds of stick from a Mr Durham. Pleased to see that tings are going ok, and that you're staying clear of the relegation zone.
Personally, from an outsiders viewpoint, I think WBA are gone and becoming too far detached to realistically stay up. Will be bottom at xmas which isnt usually positive. From watching the prem games I expect the league to be very tight (as it is atm) but due to your style of play and strong home form you should be ok. Id say bottom 3 = 18th: Bolton, 19th: Blackburn, 20th: WBA.
Few decent acquisitions in Jan (ive heard rumours about Ledley and Addison) and things should be on the up. Interested to hear your views on Kitson and why things havent worked? Is he just not suited to Stoke's style, or is he basically not up to prem level?

Can't see Bolton going down ?
Kitson, he is obviously Premier League quality, however he hasn't come to terms with our style of football ( yet ) and has received limited support / service from midfield or the flanks.

hi can see west brom going down unless they pull summit out the hat in the next 3-4 games blackburn are going to be down there. the third tream to be relegated could be one out of 6-7 teams including ourselves
with the whole kitson saga still hasn't got to grips with our style but hes getting there slowly ;D

Can see Bolton on the slide. Megson is not the best, although the signing of Elmander looks to be an exception. See a few other posts about the plight of Stafford. Went there as an away supporter last season, noticing that they had built a 'semi-temporary' stand being the goal at the far end. All seater job which looked ok. Seems they over spent a little, not helped by their relegation to the BSN. Decent little club, although I do wish they'd print their programmes in colour!

I personally think he Megs will do enough to Keep Bolton up. His situation seems very similar to our Tone's here. I would imagine Bolton fans all over him like a rash when results do not go and just about through gritted teeth congratulate him when he turns things round. They both work on the ethos that players play and fight for each other and remain a tight unit. In doing so they will not lose too many. As for us the draws at home have been a dissapointment so I really think we need to pick up some maximum away points just to keep us well above the trap door.

Cheers awayfan, thanks for coming on here. Tone and Megson are big mates so it would be tragic if it came down to one or other of us to go down on the final day but that's scarily possible. Like sidders says, we have to pick up wins on the road and get more ruthless at home or we'll get sucked downwards.
As for Kitson, if Ledley finally does make it next month it could turn Kitson's season round, I reckon he was bought for a different game plan we didn't manage the other signings to complete. I just can't see any other logical answer.

OU- who do you want as your next manager? Can't believe Jim Smith is back at the helm again!!

Yep, Jim's back in a caretaker role under a new boss is found. As for who that'll be I have no idea. Rumours have been flying around that it could be one from John Ward, Dave Penny, Steve Evans (the crook), or even Steve Cotterill! Who knows, OUFC always have the capacity to suprise.

Three of those names are pretty impressive and, if I were you, I'd be delighted to get them. Evans on the other hand can stay away from football as far as I'm concerned. He is a horrible bloke
