until Jan & assuming Mma & Kitson are both out then Vince is going to have to play.
its best we all adopt our maximum tolerance levels for the nest few games....

I thought he was better than expected when he came on tbh. Nice turn to set him away even if his shot was gash. Held the ball up ok too.

We won't achieve anything by moaning and groaning about him. The fact is that for at least the next three games we are stuck with Cresswell/Pericard (+ Fuller). Nothing we do can change that so we need to get right behind them. Go and earn yourself a contract Vince

Well I thought he played pretty well during his time on the pitch fromafar. He held up the ball and managed to turn his marker on a couple of occasions.
If he had a little more composure having rolled past Hangeland then we could have had three points. That chance was entirely fashioned by himself and he deserved more for it.

Just posted about Vincent on the Mama/Kitson thread.
Agree with you boys, apart from Fromafar.
He has got some ability, and if we play to his strengths, just maybe he could do OK.
I think we have to get behind him, and get his confidence up. We really do need him to deliver now.
ps. Question for Raf - will you be joining the new Big Vinny Appreciation Society?!

Going forward, for the remainder of this season I swear to god I don't care who lines up for Stoke in any game at all.
I will not moan about any selection whatesoever so long as I can have assurances that I don't have to watch Pugh and Cresswell in a Stoke City starting 11 ever again.
So long as those two don't start I don't care who does going forward. Even if that means big Vincent up front.

You can just imagine it now, December 26th 11pm pissed and sat in front of the tv watching match of the day, the analysis comes on from Hansen: just look at this, perricard brings the ball down with a superb first touch and goes past ferdinand like he wasn't there, he then beats vidic for pace and rounds it off with an unstoppable shot into the top corner. Gooaarn Vinny you can be a Stokie hero.

I think it's his pace that his shocking injuries have robbed him of. The Pompey fans paint the picture of a right handful during his time there, but his injuries mean we'll never see that player again in any circumstances - and Pulis was obviously gambling that we would, with full fitness, when he initially signed him. He's still as strong as an ox, and his confidence seems to have been rebuilt a bit, and with it has come a decent touch. He was heading towards a placing in our worst-ever 10 strikers list, but he has seemed a different figure after his release. Didn't he say his prison time had given him a new perspective on his career? Seems to be playing well for the reserves, and I saw his goal against Arsenal reserves. If Drogba had scored it, they'd still be replaying it now

If he can work out where the goal is and not fall over too many times on the way there I'll forgive him everything.

Might make the football a bit easier on the eye too.
Surely this week they'll be working on knocking it in to Vince's feet, with Ric and hopefully one from midfield (Glen or Oli?) trying to run beyond him if he comes deep for the ball.
I know I'm a blind optimist, but if him and Ric get a bit of an understanding, it could be good. Imagine Big Vince turning and running at the box with Ricci making a run ahead of him. At least as good as the percentage game with Mama's flick ons??

I honestly think some of you lot would cheer on a blind, drunk , monopodic swamp donkey with dysentery if it was wearing a Stoke shirt, and make out that he was quite effective I really do.
And what is more astounding is that some of the people saying give the useless lump Periwinkle another crack, are the same ones so quick to write off our record signing. UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE!

Spot on, RAF, me ole mucker.
Vince is absolute gash. Far better to play 4-5-1 and give Soares and Tonge a run out wide than waste a spot in the first XI on this insult to the glorious red and white stripes.
Pugh and Cressie need to be shunted back to the reserves pending January moves too. TP pays 6.5 million on Oli, Soares and Tonge, then plays these two Championship squad fillers ahead of them!?!?!? Why? Surely not because the omniscient one thinks he has dropped a bollock in spending big on these three? But the rimmers insist that TP does not make mistakes?

Well, I personally think he could come good with a run in the team alongside Ric. Problem is the rare occasions he does come on he's probably trying TOO hard to impress hoping to become some sort of instant hero and instead it all goes you-know-what up. I mocketh not I think Vince'll save the day...however, he's got to fend off the Cressy first who it would seem would get a place in the team even in goal if needed!

Look, if Periwinkle is all we have then fair enough. But don't try and make him out to be anything other than shite, because I've seen enough of him to know. TP clearly doesn't rate him either , otherwise he would have played more last season, never mind in the Prem ffs. The only reason Pericant is still at Stoke, is because
A. No other fucker wants him B. He is under contract
It wouldn't matter to me if he scored a fucking hattrick on Saturday, the fact remains he has been with us for 2 and a half years and has shown us nothing but laziness and a general don't give a fuck attitude. But now his contract is up he is trying and happens to look ok against average kids in reserve games. Well it won't wash with me, I'll cheer the twat on, but only because I'll never boo a Stoke player, but the sooner he fucks off forever the better.

Raf
I'll take that as a no then on the Big Vince Appreciation Society.
And could you tell me if that blind, drunk , monopodic swamp donkey with dysentery is out of contract, because if he isn't, why wait til Jan 1. Get him in now Tone!
I do cheer whoever wears the red & white on a Saturday. I know that this destroys any objectivity, and maybe it is more of desperate hope than any reality based logic that makes me genuinely believe that Vincent is going to do a job for us over the next few games, and actually make the team a joy to watch.
(I'll be wth you in a minute, Doctor)
And Jezza, I just can't see TP playing 5 in midfield. I know it sometimes like that with a 4 + 1, but I just cannot see it working with our players. It would require crosses from out wide, or clever incisive balls into space for Ric to run on to. Just don't think we can do it.
Tweak the sysytem, play to Vince's feet rather than in the air. Its more of a modification and less of a wholesale change in style.
