Forgot to mention, the article might just be saying that he can't throw the ball but might still be able to play.
Personally, I think Tonge has done more than enough to earn a starting spot.

Rorys form has been down since the Man Utd match whether this is to do with the injury or not who knows. I do believe that he has not deserved his starting place since the Manc match and it is one of TP's big failings that he does insist on playing out of form players?

Delap cannot play if he can't wang it.
Fucking Tonge must be wondering what's going on.

I've been thinking Tonge has been deserving of a start for aaaages now, but on Saturday he looked absolutely knackered in the last few minutes after only coming on for the second half. Maybe he hasn't got enough stamina to "get at them" the way he has been doing for a full match? Maybe he is a great impact player for the last 15-20 minutes? Maybe Pulis is right???

Rory's injury might just be a blessing in disguise then?

Delap cannot play if he can't wang it. Fucking Tonge must be wondering what's going on. VP I think Rory is a decent player and not just for his throw. Something is not right with Rory right now and may need to have a spell on the sidelines to get him right again. One thing I know and effective Rory is a bonus for Stoke.

vestan, said the same myself saturday, must get at the players when they see someone playing wank week in week out and your stuck on the bench. i know soares hasn't, been brilliant sofar for us, but would love to see a starting line-up involving him and tonge, tho my jury on wheelan is still out.

Wheelan again could do with a good run in the starting 11

IMO Delap was bad on saturday due to one thing, HE IS INJURED, and TP's stubborness in playing his favorite players regardless of their health or quality, was the onl yreason he played. The poor guy could hardly run, couldnt throw and was just in pain anything he did. For pete's sake Pulis, give the man a well deserved break and let him mend, and put somone in that can make a difference during that match and Delpa will be back fit and ready to go for the 2nd half of the season !!

I like Delap, think he's a good player, and his throws make up for the fact he's not a wide man who's going to beat his man and whip a cross in, but if he hasn't got his long throw, I'd rather he played in the middle and we put Tonge out wide.

Delap was our player of last season (Christmas onwards). His position? Central midfield. A Rory Delap running up and down the centre of the park is extremely effective. On the wing though he doesn't add the same bite.
Don't get me wrong, I think he has done very well this season but perhaps this injury will be just what he needs.

After the good rest, with all bodily functions working 100%, the Premiership could well have a nasty shock when Rory Version 2 is unleashed!

After the good rest, with all bodily functions working 100%, the Premiership could well have a nasty shock when Rory Version 2 is unleashed! there could be a situation though where he's not needed some games come january, hyperthetically, suppose we did sign ledley for the left of midfield, tonge, i think has said he's more suited to central midfield, tp's always going to play 1 or 2 defensive midfielders, so that leaves out right where delap for me is pretty ineffective, throw a fit LL into the mix and tone's got a bit of a head scratcher.
