Fromafar said "you see it as being negative, i see it as telling the truth!!"
Well do you understand or comprehend this truth ?
There are teams in the Premiership that have more talent sitting on the bench than we have in our starting eleven .
There are teams in the league regardless have our poor they maybe in your estimation , have been playing in the Premiership for longer and much longer than us.
We are doing as good or better than most of us expected thus far , except idiots like yourself who were expecting to win the league in our first season.

for this one.. "Well Fulham are a massive team on the road" " we just lost it after Sidibe went off" " a well deserved point" "Stoke played brilliantly" etc etc etc when Sidibe goes out and the striking options are Richard Creswell and Vincent Pericard, well.................... Why are you posting this? Were you there? No? thought not. I have no problem with anyone's opinion if they actually support the club..ie attending the game. Until you do your opinions are fuckin' worthless and only serve to get peoples backs up. Sorry Alan, that's complete bollocks. Premiership games are available in full anywhere you want. Any fans' opinion is as good as another whether they go to all the games or not. Some facts 20 points is a tremendous return We play ugly but effective when we play to our best Last 4 or 5 games we have been very poor We have no plan B We need more quality We need more pace Staying up will be a terrific achievement for the Manager and the team. A win yesterday would have been great and put us in a fantastic position, but lets face it, Stoke were not going to score yesterday as soon as Sidibe left the pitch. We need something from next week.

ken the klansman gets it wrong AGAIN !! not once did i ever mention pulling for stoke again since their good fortunes, errrr which in the last 25 years have been, hmm well, err, oh yeah promotion to div1 and promotion to the premier league. i said that i hadnt kept up closely until the internet, which by the way ken has been around for quite a few years now!! That's a lie and you know it , back tracking like your Mama comments last week . Like i have said in the past you have already shown your true colours when you couldn't even say thank you for the offer of free Stoke top from me, not even acknowledge the offer . Repeatedly being the ignorant person you are, ignored the fact that i told you we lived in the same City on many occasions .

To my reckoning thats the fourth poor game on the trot......(at home)
I agree we need to stay up at all costs, but to be fair I am getting so pissed off with the big lump up from higgy every five minutes, the guy is a quality player IMO and he totally ignores a pass inside to our MIDFIELD every time he gets the ball.
We have been sussed out to the point that virtuallyevery ball that gets hoofed up field goes straight to the opposition because we are so direct.
We need to utilise the midfield a lot more, these guys are on crazy wages and they can't at times make a 5 yard pass to a teamate......so fucking frustrating to watch.

If you were capable of praise and credit where it's due when it's warranted, maybe people would take your constant moaning a little more seriously.

Fromafar07, Perhaps you could point us all in the direction of some threads you've STARTED which are congratulatory or positive about the team, Pulis or certain players. Good luck!! Maybe when you yourself see the barrage of criticism you come out with, you'll understand why so many on here think you're a tiresome negative bellend. Come on, then, show us the positive ones, or are you not up to that challenge?

to act like an immature child because i missplled joleon lescott's name Sorry mate, that's not the issue with that post and you know it. The issue was that you didn't even know what position he was playing. The fact that you watched a full game of football, specifically watching one particular player so that you could come on here and make a point about him, but still couldn't even work out what position he was playing kind of betrayed a lack of fairly basic footballing knowledge. You keep plugging away all you like mate, but it's kind of hard to take you seriously after that.

Well Spiderman and Jarhead you must have the brain of gnats testicles if you cannot see the difference between a newly promoted team with a squad value and skill level less than most team benches in the Premiership , and just to remind you most of them have either been longer or much longer in the Premiership than us . What part of we are never going to assemble a team of creative free flowing footballers that we cannot afford do you not understand . I would love to see your teams assembled on our budget . Let me guess they will be players from teams who you call lesser opposition, who we should be beating everytime we come up against them .

Are Fromafar comments based from his comfy seat in the land of U S of A or is he actually attending matches.
Due to work committments yesterday is the last game I can attend until late February. Yes it was pretty dire, but a point is a point, and another step up the survival ladder. This season has one objective and one objective only. As stated we are the new boys and most of the teams in this division could rip us apart if they had a good day.
So Fromafar get friggin real, this season is about unity right across the board, not negative comment after negative comment. Stick to American Baseball or some other shyte sport they play across there.
By the way you make it sound like Stoke are the only team to play Hoof Ball. Lost track of the number of garbage games in premiership over last few years.

wow, what an amusing set of freaks you are, Trumptonpotter, tsm, dubaistokie, dave the rave etc etc. I have now spent a while reading posts from the majoirty of the people on this site, i have read the match reports from most of the big papers and web sites that report on football and every single one of them, every one, said how bad the game was, what an idiot Cresswell was for missing such an easy goal, how the ref stunk up the place, and how bad stoke have played (2nd half to newcastle not withstanding) in the last 6 games. But the usual 6-7 morons that reply to my threads who have never had a desire to expect more, to want more out fo their team.to ridicule anyone who says anyhting negative about Stoke, to act like an immature child because i missplled joleon lescott's name as the ydont have anything intelligent to say so they call people names. I said maybe we should have 24 points due to crap performances like yesterday and against Wigan, maybe even 25 if not for the late goal conceded against Everton, but some total dope said he expected Stoke to be on 4-5 points just due to playing West Brom and Hull at home. It is people like the above mentioned that have kept Stoke down for so so many years because they dont expect anything any better, dont demand results, chide those that may suggest otherwise, and are happy to say "what an idiot you are to expect Stoke to have 24 points". these people and their ilk are the ones tha thave kept Stoke in the dregs of the lower leagues for nigh on 25 years for me, now Stoke are back in the top flight i do expect more, i do expect the team to improve in januay, and i do expect them to stay up. for all you other lifetime losers, well, you get what you expect !!! I think this post, and the information given in subsequent posts on this thread actually shows what a total lack of understanding you have about football and supporting Stoke. "I have read the match reports from most of the big papers and web sites that report on football and every single one of them, every one, said how bad the game was"If you are basing your argument on what a bunch of lazy journo’s are writing, I’m sorry but you aren’t going to find many takers for your arguments on here… "It is people like the above mentioned that have kept Stoke down for so so many years because they dont expect anything any better, dont demand results, chide those that may suggest otherwise, and are happy to say "what an idiot you are to expect Stoke to have 24 points". these people and their ilk are the ones tha thave kept Stoke in the dregs of the lower leagues for nigh on 25 years"Its precisely BECAUSE we have had a ‘mare for the last 25 years that you find people on this board reacting the way we do. I went to Springfield Road in 1991, and let me tell you drawing 0-0 in a Division 1 or Premier League fixture was such a distant dream as to be almost laughable. I don’t think you have any understanding of what it has been like to be a Stoke fan for the last 25 years, because if you did your comments would be moderated with a degree of perspective. Im not saying we are all looking backwards, theres no point, but Id say that the majority of positive posters on this board know where we’ve been, and know the pain. "for me, now Stoke are back in the top flight i do expect more, i do expect the team to improve in januay, and i do expect them to stay up. for all you other lifetime losers, well, you get what you expect !!!"This is where I take REAL exception to what you say, and it again shows your total lack of comprehension of the modern game. As I have said before, in the summer TP would have had real difficulty bringing “quality” players to the club. We were being built up as the next Derby and no Premier League Charlie would want that on his CV. Our position now will make it a little easier, but not a walk in the park – and lets face it, Brazil are going to find it next to impossible to attract come January. With the inability to attract the kind of players needed to play the kind of football you desire so much, what is Pulis supposed to do? Set the team up to go out there and collapse every Saturday ala Brazil? Would you rather us be 8 points adrift at the bottom of the league but playing some ‘lovely football’ ?... giving rise to the kind of comments you see on the westbrom.com board saying “id rather play nice football and go down?” In my mind, and I think in many peoples, this season is all about survival. Survive this year, consolidate, strengthen and push on… Look at what Bolton did under Fat Sam.. this is what we should be emulating, not a yo-yo pedigree like the Blues. Does that mean the ends justify the means?... absolutely it does. You call me a dope, I call myself a realist, a pragmatist. If theres a dope around here, its people like you who hold unrealistic expectations about what the club can actually deliver… You want to try talking to a Newcastle fan about how that kind of attitude has ruined their club.

Post by Lakeland Potter on Dec 15, 2008 6:48:32 GMT
Cracking post Dubai. I reckon you have summed up the feelings of the majority of posters on this board - and that probably includes people on both sides of the TP debate. I was watching Stoke at the time of Stan Matthews return and so saw our promotion to the top flight in 1963 as well as the (comparative) glory years of the late 60s and early 70s.
Waddo was, of course, one of the best managers around but when he achieved promotion in 1963 he had a MUCH EASIER job than TP has in building a team to stay up in the first season. Building that team up into the side which won the league cup and so nearly won the league was also an easier job than it is today. Waddo certainly had the edge on TP when it comes to tactics but, because of the different structure of the league and the very different financial circumstances, his problems in team building were minimal compared to those TP faces.
This season, survival was always going to be the name of the game. 17th in this league this season will be a success. That we are currently slightly ahead of that target is a bonus. Being happy with survival is not a lack of ambition it is a recognition that if we are to realise our ambitions of becoming established in this league and getting into Europe then survival this year represents perhaps the hardest single step on that journey. So far so good. Let's hope that January sees us improve our situation a bit more but let's not expect or demand that we over-stretch our (in reality Coates') finances to do so. To have got where we are with one of the lowest levels of debt in the Premier League is bloody brilliant! ;D
