Im thinking that they will play a youth team, I don't think they will want to risk any players as an injury will be a major blow to them at the moment and stoke won't be going into these tackles half-heartedly!
I mean in the postion they are in at the moment, will they want to risk Owen or Duff getting injured to stoke in the cup? Do they have bigger fish to fry or is this the last remaining hope of success this season for them?

tetsuo even if they beat us they'd get thumped by Arsenal ion the 4th round, I think they'll rest Owen and maybe Duff as they're surely making sure they don't get sucked into a relegation battle!

I cant see them sending a youth team out, they need to appease the fans and quick, sending out a team of youngsters to battle against a tall, physical side in good form wont do that.
That LuaLua fella looked lively when he came on so I'd imagine he might get a run out. I cant see to many changes from the team that played down the Brit.

Wonder what our team will be without either full-back?!! (Probably) Shame to have Pugh at LB but I guess its only option as Griff is ineligable - with Zak on the right.

Yeah - if both full-backs are out, it looks like a start for the Beast alongside Fuller.

Lets not forget that both full backs are young and will shrug off knocks a lot easier than a Delap for instance. Plus its a chance for both lads to play in arguably the biggest game of their short careers on the biggest stage.
Time is a great healer ....
I imagine both will be doing everything they can to prove fitness.
It will be a major shame to see Pugh revert to full-back from centre-mid.
On another note what about a 451 with Fuller up top alone. Pack the midfiled and frustrate the fuck out of Newcastle.
The key to this game is not conceding first twenty. If Newcastle dont score early the natives will get VERY restless.
St James Park will demand a result, we can pick them off on the break hopefully.
Thinking out loud after several beers hence the 451 suggestion. It might be cobblers!

They'll have to be changes. Smith and Butt are suspended and Faye is at the ANC. With Barton in court, Emre gone AWOL and Geremi also at the ANC it leaves them with no CM's.

451 could be tempting given Parkin struggles to play the 90 & Creswell wasnt good upfront @ Ipswich

It'll be interesting to see who partners Emre in their centre of midfield.
Nobody immediately springs to mind. Maybe they'll have to play Milner or N'Zogbia there?

I think they'll probably move Milner inside Joe which is bloody great news as he's their most dangerous player in my opinion.
We dealt with Duff and N'Zogbia on the wings well last time out so I'm hoping they'll stick with them - Milner on the right and Zoggy in the middle could cause us problems.
EDIT: I think bringbackthevic's team is highly likely.
