Just another in a sucession of desperate appointments. Not that they have much choice - its a shit job, with shit players, playing in a shit ground - not many takers.
Suprised it wasn't Jimmy Nichol though.
Kind of like Vinny Jones being manager of Wales becasue he played for them a couple of times.
Sanchez does have some Irish expereince however, he was a reasonably sucessful manager of Sligo Rovers a few years ago.

When it comes to NI if they had Arsene & Fergo in charge they would not string a couple of wins together.

Sligo not in Northern Ireland just over the border but if I remember Laurie was eligible to play for the Republic.
Odd choice.

True, Sligo play in the League of Ireland, but due to the proximity of NI, many players cross the border from Coleraine, Portadown, etc to play for Sligo, Finn Harps etc., so he'll have a reasonable knowledge of the NI scene.
Presumeably chose NI, as at that time they were in the ascendancy at the time.

The Northern Ireland F.A. said I was their second choice for the job behind Faggot Sanchez. They said he just had the edge over me as he beat a shit Leicester side with a shit Wycombe side. They said although my Championship manager carreer boasted a number of successes, none were as big as Lawries achievement of totally fucking up a football club.
They said they can only hope he achieves the same sort of 'success' at international as he had at domestic level.
