(From the Sentinal) STOKE should eventually all but wipe clear what winger Peter Sweeney cost them from Millwall two-and-a-half years ago after selling him to Leeds for what is likely to be a total of £170,000.
Stoke will pocket an initial £120,000, plus a further £50,000 if he wins promotion during the course of his two-and-a-half year contract at Elland Road, while there is also a 17.5 per cent sell-on clause on any future profit from his sale.
Not exactly a nominal fee me thinks!!!! Good business!

My God that has to be like winning the lottery I would never have thought we could give Sweeney away not even with a gallon of petrol well done to all at the club and I must say if Wise considers that good business then they better get him a bigger box to stand on in the dug out.
Now come on if we can get that for Sweeney lets remind QPR's Itialian owner about Pericard's Juventus years a cheeky 5 million and he is yours.

well my Itialian stops at Pasta spaghetti and what a mistake a to maka but I am sure just mentionaing Juventus and him being the most unbeleivable player I have seen for many a long year at Stoke should swing the deal 3 million and a few Grand Prix tickets and me thinks they have a bargain.
Though to be fair I think we would be hard pressed to get knock down dvd from Blacobuster for him, maybe we could get him prison break and give him a free to Oldham where he and Lee Hughes could swap stories.

I'm waiting to see if he starts with Pericard tomorrow... Seriously, great work from Stoke for getting that kind of money out of Leeds. If I had a hat I would tip it to whoever is responsible. Nice to see that Leeds have learned their lesson about spunking good money away on horseshit.

Un-fooking-believable!!! Get rimming Davef!!! LMAO I agree, we should now go and start the search for the keys-to-the-city; I believe Georgie Eastham was last seen boarding a plan to South Africa with them ... Someone needs to go and get them back, sharpish! £120k up front; I'll have several of what Wise is drinking! ... Though 17.5% is obviously the VAT and not a sell on clause (and 17.5% of nowt isn't very much in any case). ... It's no wonder Leeds went bust, is it!? ah

Be interesting if he can do well in the league below. The start of 2 seasons ago you can see why we signed him but with the current improvements in the squad he stands no chance. I hope we will see some kind of a return from that sell on clause.

Don't forget Leeds only normally pay 1p in the pound although even at £1,200 they've been ripped off ;D

£120,000 upfront rising by another £50,000 for a useless waste of space on the day we sign quality experience in Griffin for £300,000 it works out for Griffin though an even better deal at £180,000 when take the Sweeney money we have just got!!!
Plus:
£300,000 we got for Patto? £100,000 tv money from Newcastle game. Ticket money £225,000 for both cup games is another handsome sum into the coffers so Griffin has cost nowt!!!
