....that you're all welcoming Griffin back with open arms.
I think fickle is the word?

What's the point of barracking him though? What's said has been said-he'll get a luke warm reception I think and will have to earn respect again imo.

Well I for one will cheer him on, as I do with every player , barring Pericard of course. He is WANK!

What!! When he comes out on the pitch he will get an extra big cheer from me. HE IS A STOKE PLAYER, why would anyone want to give a player who has just signed for us a luke warm reception?? Yes he has a few bridges to build, but he will do that on the pitch, with me for one, right behind him. ( not in a gay bumming way!! )

Luke warm was me being nice! I think a few will boo the fuck out of him! I'm pissed off him but won't boo him I just won't cheer him like a hero because deep down he's still money grabbing cuntrag that needs to earn my respect again by playing really well and working ardddddd!

I reckon that's an understatement, SB. After reading that spiel of a statement he's given out, I'm feeling slightly nauseous. I have no problems with him coming back to assist our promotion challenge but that's where it stops. As far as I'm concerned, he's now a commodity, just as our club has been to him.

Nothing and I mean nothing should shine a shitty light on SCFC at the moment. It's not fickle, it's being a supporter. If we were to lamblast the club for this we'd might as well shoot ourselves in the foot.
I for one would prefer a manager who does not cut his nose off to spite his face. He's a quality player and will improve our squad. TP knows this and is not daft enough to let bygones get in the way of a very good signing!

If he helps us get promoted SB then he's a good acquistion. If he performs like he did for Derby then he go back to them for the same fee when they come down this season.
That said I hope he does play well for us!

Oatcakemate,
Spot on.
Griffin, like any footballer, does what's best for him. Unlike many posters on here, who wished for fire and pestilence to invade his bollocks, I had no problem with him leaving.
He's coming back to Stoke because he has a cushy 4 year deal, lives in the area and couldn't hack it at Derby - end of. The end result for Griffin is that he made more money during his short spell at Derby than he would have got in the same period at Stoke so HE is the winner in all of this.
I'm still unsure as to why we're spending more money on another fucking defender?

Bayern- I don't know every thing Thanks for adding the knows as well!! Scholes has told me that Griffin shook hands on a deal and the next day he was promptly unveiled at Derby. Everything was agreed and he ran off to Pride Park Agree though, we should get behind Griffin now. He has decided to return, realised he made a mistake. Welcome back Griff

OS,
I'm sure there must be a job title within the football world called the 'Fan appeasement statement writer'?
They own the excuse equivalent of the Bob Monkhouse joke book which contains classic lines such as...
'I nearly cried on the pitch when I kissed my shirt in front of the supporters. It was like saying goodbye to my dying mother'
'xxxxxx FC has always been the only club for me. It's in my blood'
'Whenever I was on the pitch for xxxxxx FC I couldn't stop thinking about xxxxxx. Every game was murder'
'I just hope I can give my best for the supporters. They are the best in the world'
'I suppose you can get blinded by the lights of the Premiership and that’s why I chose Derby. I thought it was the last chance saloon.'
'But when I was there, I kind of knew I had made the wrong decision. I realised it quite soon, but you live and die by your decisions.'
'You don’t always realise how good a place is or how happy you are there until you are elsewhere. '
'Now I am just happy to be back and it will feel good to be a part of the team again. '
'It doesn’t really feel like I’ve been away because I’ve been down to watch five or six games and kept in touch with some of the lads.'
Yawn.
