I can only speak from experience and what I would normally do, which is covered within the laws of refereeing. If a player is fouled in the box which is normally a penalty but the ball runs to a player in an attacking position is to do nothing until I know the final outcome, ie; if the other attacking player scores a goal, then let it go, if however he misses, then award the penalty. We are allowed to bring back play in other areas of the field of play. but Some referees, as in this case seem to think it stops at the 18 yeard area. if the report is factual.  Rex |
