If we went up and somehow managed to stay up, do you think there would be any plans to increase the capacity of the stadium?
I remember reading a thread on the old Rivals a few months ago regarding this but I don't know if it was just a load of bollocks or if there are serious plans.
Would there be any need for it?
Would it be worth it just to have the sodding corners filled in?

They would just fill the Boothen-Carlsberg bit.

we shouldn't even consider it unless we average within 95% of capacity for more than 2 seasons in a row , why shell out MILLIONS on more empty red seats ?

Isn't there something in the pipeline to fill in the gaps? Some sort of Seddons deal, not to put seats there but to fill them in so it looks a bit classier, the sound stays in and a greater proportion of wind stays out.

There was some talk of that last season. Filling the corners in with boards etc.

i think we should atleast block out the corners with that corrugated plastic stuff (which is at the top of each stand) to stop the bloody draft !!

between the JS & the Boothen how about doing what Derby have done & fill it in with Exec box's instead of seats?
imho, the changing rooms e.t.c. should moved to that corner.

Scholes said to me last year at the meet the manager I think about doing what West Brom have done and filling the corners with metal sheets. The Hawthorns is the only ground in the country at a higher altitude than the Brit

Eventually the one corner between JS and the Boothen could be filled in. We'd need to be up in the Prem into 3 seasons though for attendance to creep up to that level really. We'd only then really approach a sell out of a 32,000 capacity on big games that aren't televised A big screen replacing the existing score board would be a must for the first game of the season though!

if we replace the score board it will be in the same place where every home fan can see it clear but we do need 1 ours looks outdated

I went on a guided tour of the ground once and was told that when the ground was designed it was planned so the stands could be extended without knocking them down, filling in corners and adding another tier to 3 sides of the ground etc. the capacity could go up to 80,000. Talk about being optimistic, they couldn't even put the ground the right way around!

We should do what they did at the Hawthorns in the short term, i.e. box the corner in to keep the sounds in and the wind out:

would build up the atmosphere n keep that bloody draft out, surely it wouldnt be too expensive to do what they did at the Hawthorns and with 20thousand fans in the noise would be great with the corners filled in!

TrueStokie your right because to get good attendances week in week out we need the players that will continue to excite the crowd and more importantly get results, wed have to have a very high crowd week in week out before the powers that be considered filling in the corners with seats. good idea further up this topic about putting executive boxes of some sort in one of the corners and could fill in the other corners with meta/plastic sheet to keep atmosphere in and wind out!

I just want for now because it's cheap but will improve the staduim and keep the draft out is to complete the plastic corrugated sheeting right down to the stands like preston and so many that have.
Have a word with Sony to do a deal on massive screen in the corner where our joke scoreboard is now then give the whole staduim a coat of of paint!!!

i think there was talk of a massive screen last season... probably wont happen this season though, attendence is too low to warrant it
