Whats happened to this kid? Is he progressing well in the reserves, still got the potential a few went on about when his was given a squad number in October?
Must be better than young ant.

It would be nice to see another product of the youth system compete for a 1st team place.

I've watched this lad progress and he is going to be a top, top player very soon. Once he turns 17 expect him to be loaned out. if he's in TP's matchday squads at 16 then you know the kids got something. For anyone that wants to see for themselves the Academy are at home to Crewe at the Mich on Saturday morning 11am ko

So is he Huddlestone-like in stature and style of play?

Keith- Huddlestone sums him up perfectly, although he is left footed
He has the potential for a very bright future. Like Buxton says, he is only 16

Cheers knowles! I'd be quite excited at the prospect of a "new Huddlestone" breaking into the first team!

Yeh great prospect imo.. scfcbuxton- I assume you go and watch the academy/ reserves quite a bit? What do you think of young thorley? I think he's also one to watch out for and could be a veyr decent player.

Yeah I go near enough all academy home games and all 2pm home reserve ones. I start work at 5 so can't go the night ones. I've commented before and said that there are 5 players that catch my eye in the academy currently. J.Phillips, Thorley, Wedderburn, Forrester and Owens. Forrester has now departed, J.Phillips needs to be more consistent, Owens is steady and the two CM's are class. Thorley reminds me of JOC with a touch of class. Can chase and chase but can also pick a pass and shoot. McDonald has had patches this season where I've been impressed but he too is currently too inconsistent. I suppose that is why they play reserve and academy games, too get rid of there weaknesses.
At the minute I'd be comfortable if either Wedderburn or Thorley were put in the first team 16, too early for the others YET.

I cudn't of put it much better myself really. Yeh give them this season reserve games, like you say get rid of weaknesses and intergrate them slowly. Also build up their pyhsical strength, alot of the crowd would get on there back if tehy kept getting pushed off the ball. But defo Thorley and mayb wedderburn to get out loan next season.. premiership may bti a bit tough for him at this early stage

I still think we messed around our golden year graduates too much. Vass, Garrett, Shotton, Pato, Rooney, Hazley, Dicko and Duggan surely should of got more games between them than they did. I'm not saying stick 4 or 5 in the team every week but trust them to fill in if we're short and help them progress. I suppose there is still time for a lot of them and hopefully Garrett, Shotton(huge potential there), Rooney and Dicko will all stay with the club beyond this season.
