So we're not looking after journalists who do little other than stick the boot into our manager and players? Absolutely shameful.

We’re a major world club now and we need to follow suit. Talk about delusions of grandeur.

Shocking revelations from within the club. First Mick Mills, then the 'ICELANDARS' and now this.
Please keep us all informed of the outcome of 'milk gate'.

I see the press are milking it again. The wankingcunts. Putting two words together to describe something or someone doesnt always work, but I think youve pulled this one off quite beautifully PP. Wankingcunts...lovely stuff.

Didn't the pr man get sacked a while ago? There were some posts on here as I recall. Is this 'Peter Potter' a disgruntled former employee?

Not wishing to moan, but in my experience buying a ticket online (limited experience admittedly) is a thoroughly demoralising experience.
The national press can swivel though. Give them a stale Wagon Wheel.

Mmmmm........ Not really a newsworthy item. Almost smacks of desperation and hearsay. And his previous news item was hardly glowing in terms of praise for the club. Sour grapes perhaps??????? Or is his lemon too bitter........

I am not denying that they may sometimes be issues, however to counter your opinion (which is valuable) I never have had a problem booking online....... only after i finally able to get on the system after it took them weeks to register me as a season ticket holder (I had bought the ticket only........6 months previously in Mar and this was Sep!!!)

I agree with all the guy says. Presentation and marketing is important. We are, well most say, in the best league in the world now. That's right, in the exclusive group of just twenty teams. To serve anyone powdered milk is crackers. Laughable even. Would you serve powdered milk to a guest in your home? I bet most of you wouldn't even dream of doing such a thing.
The rot goes on. Product shortage in the club shop: a ticket office that struggles to cope with demand [and I am in no way knocking the staff there who I've always found to be most helpful despite the working conditions]: journalists who present the image of the club being treated like somebody who has just walked into The Greasy Spoon. Etc., etc.
The good things about our club at the moment are the performances of the team, the manager, the background staff who support them and the fantastic suport we're getting. Also, we can add the investment that is taking place. However, because of stupid marketing and below par facilities for those whose job it is to report on how we're doing, we get negative exposure. It just aint good enough to cancel all the good out by serving somebody fucking powdered milk.
OS.

There are two ways of looking at this.
1. If you're going to do a thing, then do it properly. Get a consultant in, talk to another club ...whatever it takes. Then put a procedure in place for match day press activity. It's not rocket science: free seats, tea, coffee, alcohol, electric plugs, wi-fi, decent mobile signal, a room with some chairs and a table, a back-drop, some football managers and access to a few footballers.
or...
2. Why bother. F*ck 'em. Most press generated about Stoke is negative - not because of officious personnel or powdered milk, but because of a snobbish and intolerant attitude to 'survival football' tactics. If I was the club, I might question the value of the press to SCFC and probably conclude that it was of negative value. You therefore have to examine the wisdom of investing in a process which, no matter how slick, will always result in overwhelmingly negative PR.
Conclusion: F*ck 'em, but do it properly!

Another way of looking at things is from the amount of televised home games we are enjoying this season. The way I see it, we egt all these tv home games because of all the work that went on in the summer upgrading the media areas. In that way we have been successful. On the flip side, powdered milk?? WTF? Somebody needs a severe fucking for being so second rate and undoing all the previous work in one silly oversight.

Having been to all of Stoke's home games this year I can say that the facilities and level of service, friendliness and helpfullness of the staff in the media suite are excellent!
Having worked for some of the countries top press I have been to most of the Premierships facilities and also some of those abroad.
The room is bright and has more than ample facilites, plasma screens, air conditioning etc, in fact better than most current Premier League clubs. The soup and sandwiches before the game and also the fantastic Pie and peas at half time are a welcome relief from the cold at the Brittania.
The Press conference is conducted in a professional manner and both Managers are brought up as soon as they have dealt with their teams by their respective Media representatives.
I would challenge if 'Peter Potter' has ever attended the Media suite at the club as he obvously has no conception of what really happens on a match day and I would go as far to say that it sounds like a classic case of sour grapes for not being able to get access to Stoke's media suite.

Of course lets not forget that during the Waddo years under Henshall Stoke City were reknowned throught football & the sports press as THE hospitable club.
helped raise our profile then.
freeloading wankers many of them may well be but anything that helps promote SCFC in a postive light is a good thing
