www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11701_4552863,00.html Stoke star Amdy Faye has set his sights on winning a long-term deal at the Britannia Stadium. Faye initially signed a 12-month deal with the Premier League new boys last summer after arriving from Charlton. The former Portsmouth and Newcastle man has caught the eye in recent weeks after getting a regular run in the side and impressed in the famous win over Arsenal earlier this month. The Senegal international is keen to extend his stay with the Potters and is hoping to hold talks with the club over a new deal in the near future. "I am really enjoying my time at Stoke and I happy that they have given me my chance in the Premier League again," Faye told skysports.com. "I did well at Portsmouth and Newcastle, but things did not work out for me at Charlton and I can understand why I did not feature very often for Rangers during my spell there. "But I believe I am back to my best and that is showing in my recent performances. "I am out of contract in the summer and I am keen to sort out my long-term future. "I have been made feel very welcome at Stoke and I am determined to help them fight to stay in the Premier League."

Then he needs to improve by about 25%. A reasonable squad man but on quite a wage apparently.

I thought that he was close to the man of the match on Saturday against West Brom.

I thought it was abdy too.
But he is nothing like trash. His last couple of performances have been very decent! He works hard and gels with Diao well. I prefer george but he is a very good cover player.

Amdy doesn't deserve the negative reactions some people on here give him. Sure, he's not the star of the team, but he is an important member of the squad and has put in some good performances of late.
IMO if he signs for another year or two it can only be a good thing.

He is the weakest midfielder of our 1st team squad.

he is better than both diao and olly No. Diao is the better player by quite a way. Olofinjana has disappointed me to some extent to be honest. Faye looks decent, but only decent.

We have 3 holding midfielders: Diao, Amdy and Olifinjana, out of the 3 Amdy is the worst and is keeping players like Whelan out of the team so its a no thanks Amdy from me.

I thought that he was close to the man of the match on Saturday against West Brom. Totally agree ... he's not set the world alight so far but apart from Boro he's been steady enough while against West Brom i thought he had a really good game. Hopefully it wasn't a flash in the pan, he's settling in and we'll see a lot more of the same. I wouldn't rush in yet and offer him a new contract but so far he's been pretty consistent in my eyes. Never the best player in the middle but with Oli and Diao being a bit up and down he gets overlooked a bit for praise sometimes ... saturday definitely being the prime example where i thought he was great.

Then he needs to improve by about 25%. A reasonable squad man but on quite a wage apparently. On about £25,000 a week if I remember rightly on FM if that's anything to go by ???

he is better than both diao and olly Disagree with that! I don't rate Am Faye or Seyi that highly truth be told. However I thought Faye played well on Saturday, so credit where its due. I think Faye is stop-gap for Rudi Austin, so if we can sign Rudi I think Faye will be let go.

He is the weakest midfielder of our 1st team squad. No he isn't - not by a long way! He is very similar to Diao and I'm not that happy to see both of them on the pitch but I for one am pleasantly surprised by him - he is a very good squad player to have.
