... it is only banter. I will not personally abuse, attack or offend any poster. I will play up Hull City's season so far and our chances against Stoke.
I will have a pop at Stoke's chances against us etc etc and generally try to whip up pre-match ferver.
What I promise you is that come Saturday night, I will wish Stoke well for the rest of the season whatever the score. If we lose, I will take it on the chin, accept it with good grace and let you revel in victory. However, as that is not going to happen, I will just have to be sportsmanlike in victory.
Up the Tigers!!

It's time you 'came out',i think next saturday night will be the perfect timing! 123 posts is the product of relatively close rivalry for much of last season. I know we finshed last season as much the better team/squad and far better prepared than Stoke for a season in the Premier League, your ealier season form did see the season end just in time for you - gaining auto-promotion on the last game of the season. Still, cream rises to the top in the end and we are both where we are in the table on relative merits. ;D

elliottgold, I'm wondering if and when you think we will move past you in the table ;-) ?
I reckon it'll be this side of Xmas!
A few weeks ago it appeared unthinkable and even now with Hull sitting in 6th place and the Potters in 13th it looks unlikely on the face of it.
However should we turn you over at the weekend at the Brit the gap between us be just 2 points.
The pundits haven't spotted it yet, Hanson and Shearer were still talking up your chances on MOTD last night, but I reckon you're already more or less in free fall.
I'm sure we won't agree on this one but I still firmly believe as I did at the start of the season that if Stoke are to stay up they will need to finish above Hull. WBA and one other and that your fantastic start has done little to really change that.

If's and but's.
No I don't think Stoke will finish above Hull City and nor do I think that situation will occur at any time during the current season.
Stoke will not beat Hull City next Saturday.
We lost to Man Utd and Chelsea - but came out of both with a lot of credit. We lost to Bolton in a game which was steal of the Century.
We drew against Man City and Portsmouth but could have won both.
We play with great team spirit and enterprise, each member of the team is on thier game and we will continue to cause problems for bigger teams. We go into every game believing we can win.
We have only spent £7m of the £30m so far - January will see further targeted team strengthening. We will get better and better.
Don't worry about us.

In that case if you're counting part way through competitions is it right we forced a draw at Old Trafford? After all it was still all square after three minutes! PS In all honesty when was the last time Hull finished above the Mighty Potters?

In the unlikely event that Hull finish above us this season we can console ourselves that at least our manager isn't orange. I mean we'd all rather finish below Hull than have an orange manager wouldn't we?

trebor - do you mind if I call you "minty"?
You see, living in the past is no good. It's now and the future that matter.
Lurcherman - I would not call you a "twat" as that would be outside the spirit in which I have promised to banter with you. The fact that I think you are one is another thing, but as promised, I will not call you one.

Hull have been brilliant, it is great to see a newly promoted side doing what they are doing. But we are beginning to creep up on them now. I predict a draw for next week.

Hull. Famous for one thing and one thing only. A famous episode of Only Fools and Horses.
Hull are reminding me of Reading. Whereas Stoke remind me of Bolton. So enjoy this season while it lasts mate cos next season will be a nightmare in comparison.

Elliott I think you are a top man and I will not not let the banter get over the top either and as you say, come saturday night I'll wish Hull all the best for the rest of the season too.(except for the return game.)
just a point doesn't being in the premiership tick you off sometimes the way they talk about us as if we should feel privileged to be in it ?.

Banter is great amongst genuine football fans - long may it continue, and yes I have been impressed with your side this season and expect a toughie on Saturday
However, we will sneak it 2-1

EG!
Fulham at home - Fulham should have been 3 up after 15mins - Fact!
Everton at home - had the game lasted another 5 mins, Everton would have won, my Hull City pals tell me - FACT!
Tottenham away - Tottenham peppered the Tigers goal, hit the post - Everything but score - FACT!
Newcastle away - The football match was a side show to what was really happening that day, with the Demo's etc. Newcastle team didn't turn up - FACT!
Hull City have been riding a bit of luck, and whilst it might seem that the team and squad is good enough, are they really? Credit where it is due, the Tigers have been taking advantage of many situations, which all teams should do if they are going to survive this season.
But it is, a little early to suggest that Hull City are safe from relegation, there are a hell of a lot of games to play, and as the season rolls on, more and more teams are going to be desperate for points and will scrap all the way to pick them up - Just hope you arent moaning about your lack of luck come March/April time!
Sincerely hope that Stoke and Hull City stay up, for many reasons which should be obvious! Geovanni fantastic player, transfer of the season so far - Will he still be in Hull come February????
All the best - Until next Saturday!

Respect to Hull from me, too.
Bumped into most of their playing squad last night on the M40 services where they were enjoying a Burger King with their fans, signing kids' shirts, taking photos, etc...
They loved my Longthrow shirt and I said I loved their nutritional programme, please keep it up all week for Saturday... ;D
Real footballers in an Ashley Cole world of wankers.
The fans we chatted with (really decent lads) were looking forward to Saturday but with more than a little trepidation. They know we can generate a great atmosphere and momentum if they don't get their game right.
Should be a good'un, I hope relations remain mutually respectful as we are what the game needs and bring some balance to the vulgarity and elitism of PL football...
