Not completely, but not using it all the time, Delap looks almost embarrased by all the hype and media attention , and I doubt the sudden raise in expectation levels that the crowd have for his throw ins doesn't help.
We need to start mixing it up from the throws, stop going long every time because they are expecting it , leave a man short , for the short throw . give them something to think about . give us OPTIONS
Oh and Delap MOM without a long throw assist , he was everywhere and he was immense

No way, it hasn't been quite so effective last few games but it's still a great weapon for us.
Wit Rory playing well today, and as a centre midfielder for much of last year, I would like to see Tonge and Soares on the wings and Rory alongside Salif on Amdy or Seyi in the centre. I doubt it will happen though.

absolutely ID!! Delap showed excellent footballing ability today, even without the throw!, though i think that he deliberately failed to use it to it's full capacity! i too, believe that he is uncomfortable with all the hype surrounding his throw, however, he may find that, ultimately, it is his strength and at his stage of his career, he should be drawing on it!
Nonetheless, he has proven that he is more than 'just a throwing expert' today.....
......though WE ALWAYS BEAT WEST BROM, EH? ;D

We worried when all our goals came from it and now we're worried when they don't!
If I was an away fan or fan of the other team I'd be delighted if Stoke decided to abandon or lessen the use of the long throw

I'd like to see a man short, and rory try , winding up for a long throw, and just not doing a long throw, so they don't know whats happening , sometimes chuck it long, sometimes not. to create confusion and doubt

I think what lew means is that its only the stupid fuckin media that have picked up on the long throw as Stokes only weapon. In actual fact it is a great weapon but not our only weapon. Good result today. great goal from open play.

I thought today a few times there was an opportunity to throw it short as WBA were busy panicking in the area. Also, why not have a player run short for an apparent short throw or flick on to bring a few defenders and spread the opposition defence out a bit. It's a fantastic weapon, but the time has come to diversify and mix it up a bit.

I agree, they will know its coming, doesn't mean they will all know how to deal with it though does it.
