....that he thought Kitson would be leaving in January and another striker brought in. His comments came in response to a caller earlier on this evening who thought the same. I wonder if he's been tipped off...?

firkthe fox...He said that he thought he would be off in January..
I'll leave you to decipher what he meant but , in my eyes that's pretty unequivocal.

mumf : the worryingb this is :
1) You think Acres has sufficient intelligence to come out with this sort of thing
2) The fact that we can ALL speculate on any player doing anything ( i.e. Lawrence going to Bham i n January - how does anyone know that ??? ) so why is Acres special and why would he have any better knowledge than anyone else ??
3) You appear to believe Acres which actually makes you a bigger idiot that you normally seem to be ;D

Acres didn't say he though Kitson would be off, the caller did. Acres said he thought there'd definitely be a new striker coming

I didn't think John insinuated anything about Kitson anyway, but he has not heard anything regarding what might happen to him in Jan - none of us have.

Whoever rang up and slated Kitson for him getting injured today is a disgrace to the football club imo. He could be out for months and people were ringing in and saying he couldn't get off quick enough-F**kin disgrace!

bayern, I agree. As for him leaving in January i just can't see how the economics would work, I mean who's going to come in for him at a decent price after the start he's had to the season??

I like john Acres and think he usually calls things just about right on most issues surrounding Stoke, or maybe its just that I agree with him !
He probably does have a slight inside track on certain things though not much! Lets be honest TP and PC know exactly whats happening but deals for a million reasons can go ahead or be called off at the drop of a hat.
A new striker? I bloody hope so! A speedy winger? I bloody hope so! A play making Hudson type of midfielder? I bloody hope so!

In truth, he was struggling to get off at all and the Albion fans were giving him some grief because of this.

I hope that Kitson makes a speedy recovery and that he moves on in January.I think it would be better for all concerned as it would be the cheapest option. He isn't the type of player that suits our style or tactics, but if we lose a couple of million on him then so be it.Ultimately it will be a small price to pay if we manage to stay up ,and we can then move on.
I also think that Acres is privvy to more inside information that we think...

He gets very excited when we score...

Like Sal, I struggle to think who would pay decent money for Kits at the moment (remember to tempt Kitson away they'd also have to pay him a comparable wage to his present wage)
If we do get a new Striker (or two) in then I wouldn't be surprised to see Kitson move on loan in January. That might be the best compromise solution.
