Nobody's mentioned it yet, but when Cresswell moved into the box with Pugh screaming for the ball, Cresswell mis-hit the thing and leathered it out for a throw in.

Actually, before it went out for a throw in, it went about a foot in front of Pugh's head and in fact went where Pugh would have been had he not stopped running. Seems odd to me that Pugh was flapping his arms around like some great big bird of prey come to bring the Viking Apocalypse and yet when the ball came straight across his path, he elected to do nothing. At the time I thought that Cresswell had actually squared the ball for Pugh, even if the replays seemed to indicate that it was a badly mis-hit shot. He had a good game that night, but what was he playing at there?

At the time I did say to my missus that if he'd have just thrown himself forward he would've buried it. Looking at it in replay though, I think he wanted the ball to feet and the way it whizzed past him at head height completely took him by surprise.

I agree Dallas. Simonsen had numerous attempts, and pretty much all of them didn't even bother Given. He never once made their keeper work.

The guy is a fuckin wuss....and what really pisses me off, is that he was directly in front of goal on every attempt.
