Just on the Baggies Rivals site and we moved onto the topic of the game when we went ten points clear. I reckon we took about 8500 but a Baggie reckons we only took about 4000? Anyone care to agree with me?

Cheers Dave, I knew it was more than bloody 4000. The Baggie was trying to tell me we didn't have the whole end behind the goal but there weren't any home fans behind our goal. I thought my memory was fading!

there were, but we had 2/3rds of a curved huge open end, it wasn't a square end. they had some fans right over to the left on a small section of the terrace behind a 10ft steel fence

Was there, bloody hell my memory! Having said that I was standing on the Rainbow side and it was bloody packed so I probably couldn't see. I remember we got in to the ground just in time because there were tarffic problems on the M6 (for a change!) and there were loads of Stokies having a piss on the hard shoulder! Great day though.

I was at that game Jamo and i can't even remember the result.I know we scored because i remember a stokie running on the pitch to mock the baggie fans, and in his haste to avoid the stewerds, jumping mistakenly into the home fans.It was like watching a cartoon as he tried to change direction in mid air.Was it 2-2?

I was somewhere on the curve , near the corner flag about half way back, remember seeing TJ climb onto some sort of pillar to lead a tremendous delilah .
we were like sardines, but as ever on the terraces, when gleghorn and stein scored the see of bodies rolled forward and unless you were in front of a crush barrier you went with it.
remember walking back up the grass behind the terrace that eveing singing
Oh I do like to be beside the seaside Oh i do like to be beside the sea Oh i do like to stroll along the prom prom prom where thr brass bands play FUCK OFF WEST BROM

Sardines is right Dave, I remember getting smacked into one of the old dis-used segregation posts that were still stood on the terrace after one goal. Great days ;D

The celebrations at the end, i can still see the players to this day hugging each other as the massed ranks of stokies bounced up and down. Watching it back on central news that night brought a tear to my eye.

7500 Bouncing up and down to
Boing Boing Bag o Shite (or baggie shite depending on your hearing)
I still recall seeing the other end of the ground doing the boing boing early on, it was an impressive sight it has to be said .
and there was a good few choruses of "we can see you sneaking out"

I managed to go every game that season, the away days were brillant. Some cracking mentals and superb away followings.Even Hartlepool when Foghorn scored a late header for us to win 2-1 was a superb mental.Shawry's double at Burnley, winning at Preston,Blackpool was brillant in the rain and Rooster had a great game. But the best moment was Steino's goal at Vale, what a moment and what a celebration. Happy days.
