Chelsea Should Sign Delap
I have a suggestion for Scolari. Go out during the January transfer window and buy Rory Delap.
He can then be used as a pure impact substitute in the Champions League. These matches are often close affairs, where good quality defences stifle the life out of each other and the kind of sexy football we've been playing in the league won't work. We need a plan B which Mourinho carefully created through buying lots of extremely physical, tall players who can be dangerous at set pieces. And imagine the kind of mayhem Chelsea could cause, say, Real Madrid by using Delap from the right wing as a specialist taker of long throws for Drogba, Terry, Carvalho, Ballack et al. to get on the end of. Obviously, Delap is not a good enough player to be used from the start, but as an impact substitute he could be a serious weapon.
He would surely jump at the chance, would presumably not be too expensive (though Stoke would probably be loathe to see him leave). And of course he's not cup-tied for European competition... Tim Colyer, Chelsea fan, London

It's bizarre isn't it?
The strange thing is, they didn't create anything like this amount of havoc in the championship last year, some impact, but not this much. These Prem defences don't seem to be able to cope with it.

Would he actually jump at the chance? I don't think that he would, suppose it depends on the money he would get offered.

These Prem defences don't seem to be able to cope with it. You're right. We didn't seem to need his throws for 50% of our goals then. Has he got better at them? Or is the pitch-narrowing the reason? The only one that immediately springs to mind is the Sidibe goal at Norwich, although he hit the post v Palace too?
