You hear a lot about Tom Thorley and Jimmy Phillips and a fair bit about Grocott, but there seems to be very little said about Danzelle. I've not seen much of him, so is he any good, and does he look like a future first-teamer/stand in now if Soro and Simmo were to get injured, as we only have the three 'keepers in the squad?

He is doing OK. He played for the Youth team at Blackburn on Saturday. I am surprised he hasn't had a loan spell to gain experience but perhaps it is down to only having three pro keepers on the books.

Good kepper IMO
Before Nash was here last season, I was a bit sceptical, but it seems like he learned a lot from Nash and is learning from Sorro too
His shot stopping is a lot better than saving from distance, has he takes a while to get down, maybe needs to improvi his agility

When he first came to this football club he appeared to be wearing the weight of the world in his shoulders. I remember him playing abour 3 years ago for the academy against West Ham. We lost 3-2 and he was at fault for all 3 goals. He didn't really impress me for the rest of that season and at the time I wrote him off but he has improved immeasurably in the last 12-18 months. He now commands his area, has a good understanding about how to deal with different situations and always seems to get something on the ball when he does come for it. His reactions are absolutely immense aswell. He played in goal for the academy earlier this season and had to get down to save a header off a corner. He could only parry it out and it fell straight to an opponent who was barely 3 yards from goal. This lad smashed it as it dropped and DSLH stuck an arm up instantly and clawed it away. I thought 'Wow!' at the time and anybody who saw the Arsenal reserve game a fe weeks ago will remember he made another quite outstanding reaction save, where he was going one way before the ball deflected the other way just in front of him.

Like others, I was extremely sceptical of his ability for the first eighteen months that I saw him. However, this past year he has come on leaps and bounds and deserved his professional contract. He is a very shy character but a few training sessions with Sorensen could well change that . Although he is our third choice, the management don't seem to have too much faith in him yet. We decided to be keeperless on the benches against Cheltenham and Portsmouth. Like Mark, I believe a loan move to a Blue Square side will do him the World of good.

Well Knowlsey what were you expecting really. We all now Tone only considers players who have played pro football for at least a season before he even entertains the idea of playing them. Arsene Wenger he is not Not that thats a criticism though. Surely it is better to get youngsters learning the trade elsewhere, hence making the mistakes that ultimately comes with that for somebody else, and then we have them back a much stronger, wiser player.

I believe Danzelle is being held back due to the fact, as mentioned earlier, that there are only 3 professional keepers at the club currently.
Both Jimmy and Tom create their own press by having friends/family posting on this board to raise their public profile whereas other young players let their football do the talking. Fair play to the lads but it's a shame players like St. Louis-Hamilton and Grocott do not enjoy the same praise for their hard work.

Seen him once or twice and on all occasions he has looked a decent prospect.

Surely they are letting their football do the talking, hence why Stafford fans are drooling over the pair of them, although Tom has now moved on.

Having been to several Stafford Rangers games this season (although unfortunately not seen Thorley playing) I can't see why Phillips is being drooled over.
From what I have seen, he is desperately underweight and gets bullied off the ball almost as soon as he receives it. I do think he's a fantastic prospect for the future but right now he's certainly no better than our other young lads.
As for friends and family, I don't know their usernames but I know that it happens. It's free PR and who can blame them?! I'm sure if you wanted to know then you could look at who's saying what etc.
I don't mean to offend and i'm behind all our young lads completely. Just stating an opinion and something that bugs me about the situation.

Indeed but at least they're educated opinions as opposed to jumping on a bandwagon.
Take what you will from it.

Marc is one of my best mates and tom and jim are good mates aswell from when i was at stoke , i cant praise the marc enough though after still getting a pro after coming through differnt injuries and playing everywhere when asked. A true leader and a die hard stoke fan !
