Well whoever takes charge now will have his head called for on sat against ManUre if they lose. Who in their right mind will want to take over there now.

lets all hope Newcastle's priority is to regain winning ways in the league and that the FA Cup replay is not a huge priority of theirs!

Funny we said he'd get sack after Stoke game. The next manager will only get 2 games.
Alan Shearer don't make me laugh! Loved Shearer as a player but that doesn't always make you a good manager!

Never liked him since he cut Crooksie in two in front of the Boothen end when he played for Bolton. Anyone remember that? He's been found out at Newcastle, Arrogant and Overatted. I wont lose any sleep about it.

Newcastle won't be sorted as a successful side until a manager is given enough time to turn things around. Ah well, their loss. What he said. Until our fans wake up and smell the coffee and realise we are a mid table team and not top 4 we could have Wenger at our club and the fans would get him sacked. Pathetic

He was not appointed by the current chairmen, he was appointed by the previous guy. If a chairman wants his own man in, then it is his perogative (sp). He seems to have wasted money on some crap players though, and its not the position in the league as much as the useless long ball style of play.
And to think some people wanted him as england manager, thank god we got McClaren. as if we hadnt we wouldnt have got Capello!

I'd say Shearer is a cert for it, that idiot chairman sits with the fans and they've all been telling him to get shearer in.

Nath, You need to get that pillock out of the fans seats you can't have the Chairman sitting with the fans, "Look at me I'm a fan just like you lot." Bollocks!

On Radio 4 news it was said that he'd "left", leaving it ambigious as to whether he'd jumped, or been pushed.

this could bite us in the ass everybody knows teams tend to play better when a Caretaker is in charge they might just up their perfmances a little hope not though

No surprises there then!
Sets us up nicely for the cup replay. Although on the other hand, teams tend to have 2-3 good results after a manager leaves, until they become worse than they were just before the manager left, if that makes any sense at all!!

Great example of how a club can be ruined by its whinging, arrogant fans. So, Shearer might be about right for them then...

It was definitely a rash decision but Mike Ashley n Chris Mort haven't had a chance to bring in their own manager yet, they still had Sam from the disastrous Freddy Shepherd era. Give the new board a chance to get their manager in and start their own regime

"By mutual consent" according to Five Live, with Pearson confirmed as caretaker. I strongly suspect the final straw was his after-match interview on Sunday, when he reckoned that his boys controlled the game throughout. Such an inaccurate analysis of the game obviously confirmed for the Newcastle board that they had a muppet for a manager.

Probably decided when he said thay shopuld have won on Sunday, that he know's eff all about football! Seriously though, I think it's a big mistake. Sam is the genuine article as he has proved in the past, and I quite liked him. Don't think he has much time for prima donnas, and expects them to work for thier shekels. Good luck, Sam. I think Newcastle will be the biggest losers. Bugger me, he hasn't had time to fill his ashtray up with sprigger wrappers!
