John Locke Why call Ronaldo a 'wanker'? Isn't that bullying? Do you swear at football matches? When there are kids there? C'mon now, don't be so stupid to compare a bit of light banter to a living person to singing about the horrific deaths of some professional footballers

Can I just say here that this racism thing works both ways you know. (Although the PC Brigade dont see it that way) We were sat on the back at Man U in front of the executive boxes. In the box behind us was a group of Asians. When Man U scored they were proper taking the piss trying to rub our noses in it. My mate turned round and started giving it back to them. As soon as he did this the coppers were straight over telling him to turn round and face the front like some school kid or he would be ejected. I said to the copper that it works both ways. If they are abusing us then we will abuse them. The worst thing was I could tell by his face that deep down he knew I was right but working for the police he had to go down the politically correct route. i actually agree with that! if they were being knobs, then they walk into it! but why resort to racism? Whether they were knobs, cocks or dickheads bears no assumption to their race...there are very proud and respectful asians all over this country, let down by these morons! As indeed we stokies are let down by the uneducated few amongst us! My only disappointment comes from the 'munich song' - WHY ??? It really repulses me and makes us look pathetic and brings shame on the club! Ronaldo IS a wanker....couldn't we have dragged that out a bit longer

So you are King John Locke and you can draw the line in the sand anywhere you fucking want with the rest of the hypocritical fuck pigs on this thread then can you?
Apologies, I didn't realise you were the law maker.
Go upto someone in the street, preferably 6 feet plus tall and 15 plus stone neanderthal and call them a wanker repeatedly. Let me know how you get on.

Apologies, I didn't realise you were the law maker. Go upto someone in the street, preferably 6 feet plus tall and 15 plus stone neanderthal and call them a wanker repeatedly. Let me know how you get on. Players get this abuse shouted at them all round the country. It's not personal, it's just something to say. No-one actually knows whether or not Ronaldo is a wanker in real life, becasue we don't know him. To sing about the death of someone IS personal. I honestly can't believe you are comparing the 2, or are you just doing it to be controversial?

There are people that committ suicide as a result of being bullied.
I will find it hard to believe that singing a song about dead footballers will inspire the next flight to come down.
Don't get me wrong, its unlikely that Ronaldo will jump off a cliff but I suppose we can live in hope.

The vast majority of those Manc glory hunting fuckers didn't know those footballers.
Its not personal. Its just something to sing.

As you say, the vast majority, which means there will have been some there who did. I don't know but I bet you didn't know Stanley Matthews. But as someone said, if someone sang a song about him and him dying all the time, would you not feel that it was out of order?

I would have the common sense to know that they would either be an individual or a group of individuals that were trying to wind me , as a Stoke fan, up.
My point issue with this is that a steward will go off on one over a song aimed at their club, yet the Man Utd fans are quite happy to have a dig at the Liverpool fans on a continual basis.
'3 times, We won it 3 times, without killing anybody, we won it 3 times'
Now, this sounds like they are goading Liverpool fans with the fact that they caused the death of a number of Italian fans over 20 odd years ago.
I see the double standards in this but since you lot seem happy floating in a wank pool of hypocrisy then I'm not surprised that you would let this kind of thing float by.

MCF, the world ain't black and white, fella, calm down.
To use your logic from two answers you gave... singing is a breach of the peace watch out madonna and Westlife and go up to someone 6ft 15 stone and repeatedly call them a wanker.
So, why don't you go up to someone who's just suffered a bereavement for example and sing about their loss to their face. Do you think that might be likely to lead to a breach of the peace?

John Locke
My "Us and them" quote had absolutely nothing to do with racism. I was simply referring to my group of friends and their group of friends. It would have been the same regadless of them being asian or not.
The fact that you chose to raise this point does however indicate that you side with the politically correct do gooders whereby you only have to breathe in the direction of someone non white and you are racist.
Like I said originally, it works both ways.

The racists should have been ejected but the police don't have the guts to deal with a crowd - easier to harass a small group in the town as they do regularly
Not bothered about the Munich chants but I did think the wanker chants went on too long
Ronaldo is a wanker and well deserves the chant but us going OTT on this type of chanting is going to do no-one any good. it certainly didn't stop Ronaldo and it will, if it continues at this level, damage our reputation as fans. Credit for the support for our own team will be lost in the aggro at these chants
Had Ronaldo not played would the same chants have been used undeservedly on Rooney - I suspect so.
We are in danger of demaning ourselves as much as the intended victim

Stokies or not - personally I would machine gun them all.

Where did I once mention racism in any of this?
I love how you just presume that they were giving us friendly banter and we were laying into them with tirades of racist abuse. How do you know that we were not having any banter back with them? Thats the problem with this country in general, people assume they know all the facts when in actual fact they know nothing. You assume im racist because ive said some asians were giving US abuse. How is that right? If asians dish out abuse its "friendly banter", but if I say something back its racist filth. People like yourself are rotting society and creating this politically correct bubble we now find ourselves living in.
You make me sick!!

mcf I meet cocks like you everyday of my working life, you would be the kind that would feel 'entitiled' ie. 'who are you talking to you can't say that to me' type. We ain't talking diversity here just respect and if you think that having a jolly old singsong about colour creed or anything else is funny you need to take a serious look at yourself

We are in danger of demaning ourselves as much as the intended victim Really? I thought that for the 30 minute spell where the chants were ongoing, Ronaldo turned into the poorest player on the pitch. He seemed to forget that there was a game going on, was easily tackled, threw away possession easily and when he did get the ball near the box, he'd chip it straight into Sorensen's hands. Our defence letting him play a simple pass to Carrick, who was then allowed to shoot through four defenders boosted his confidence a little, but for the most part he was absolutely dire if you take away the two free kicks. He's never been any good in pressure situations anyway, a la tight cup finals, semi-finals, games against the big teams. I thought it was quite refreshing for him to get the abuse he deserves and for him to be shown up by it.

Apart from the obvious 2 free kicks he scored, I didn't think Ronaldo looked that good, and I think the chanting DID get to him, he kept gesturing to the stoke fans and was clearly pissed off, and he had a few kicks at Amdy Faye as well, which looked like they were born out of frustration. If he thinks that was bad, wait until he visits fortress Britannia on boxing day I hope he gets more stick than Kris Commons did in that game where he had to be substituted because it was that volatile I want to hear an absolute torrent of boos and jeers whenever he gets anywhere near the ball.

It was no co-incidence that apart from the early goal he was terrible in the first half when playing down by the Stoke support. Nowhere to hide on Boxing day, wanker.

I reckon that chant was the main problem with that damning report - The report was OTT but the substance of the report was correct
'Wanker give us a wave' was booming out almost none stop in the second half
I guess that if I had taken a child to the match then it would have been uncomfortable to say the least
