I am among the people excited about what is happening at Stoke, including their great showing (although they should have won) against Newcastle. HOWEVER, 4 draws in a row (including the Newcastle game) doesnt exactly instill huge confidence that they can go anywhere. The killer instinct seems to be missing, ask Jon Parkin why he didnt score . Until someone else besides Fuller is brought in to score (and keep Fuller on his toes at the same time) that killer instinct will remain missing in my opinion. The silly goals being given up late in games DEFINITELY have to stop, just play like you did against Newcastle on defence every game and it will be ok. Simple right ?? Three draws in a row, and add on the draws earlier in the season just seem to be adding up to one big "what if" for the end of the season. what if we had won that game or the other game. At this point in the season we can almost say that, a couple less draws and everybody would be chasing us !!! just something to ponder in this time of excitement

Your right about three league games and a cup game drawn but put into context there quite good results. Barnsley and Plymouth are both towards the top end of the division and are some what bogey teams, the Hull game was shockingly bad but we still managed to get a point out of it and as you say we should of beaten a new castle side who are 11th in the premiership and have got a team that cost about £40m.

Is this your very own "I told you so" thread should things go tits up ....?
In all fairness why shouldnt people get carried away. This club has been in terminal decline for most of my lifetime, and Im 39, so you cant blame people for getting excited.
In essence you are right. Nothing is decided until May. Although of the four draws you mention two of them were away at notoriously difficult venues against teams enjoying their own "great" season and two were at home, one against a Premiership team and the other a high-flying super confident Hull, who, if you were there battered us 1-1 earlier in the season when doom and gloom was rife at Stoke.
There is enough evidence to suggest Stoke are on the up, there is also enough counter evidence to suggest that Stoke always cock it up.
Lets enjoy it whilst it lasts, however long !!!

I agree too, all good points fromafar. The encouraging thing is last year we might well have lost all three league games and slid down to mid-table, so we're getting plenty right. We've got to either add up front or free up Cresswell to play there more of the time but that's got to be on TP's mind as well.
For some reason I still have a bad feeling about Ipswich though, I just think we're due to get turned over by someone soon.

To be honest I am in some ways glad that the Hull and Castle game we seem to have missed the chances simply because the law of averages mean we will be back amongst the goals from now on in. I will be a little dissapointed if we dunna have a new face in the team for Saturday though with all the specualtion, but hey we are Stoke and it's always going to be a roller coaster, it's part of the fun

the Hull game was a stark reminder how we can play when our best player is missing
we all predicted a poor performance and that's exactly what we got
I just hope we get the right players in now to avoid future Hull situations

There was also the possibility that some players may have had the Newcastle match on their minds with the Hull match too.
