Being bottom of the league notwithstanding , is losing 0-3 at home to Chelsea a worse result in terms of morale and blown expectations than losing 5-0 at Old Trafford? ???

Not sure that one result matters that much in the grand scheme of things. You could argue that Hull's loss at home to Wigan in the second game of the season was "worse" than either the Baggies or Stoke results on Saturday - certainly it came against poorer opposition. But most Hull fans don't seem that concerned about it now.

You could argue that Hull's loss at home to Wigan in the second game of the season was "worse" than either the Baggies or Stoke results on Saturday - certainly it came against poorer opposition. But most Hull fans don't seem that concerned about it now. All three promoted sides will get their share of humilliation this season, such is the gap between the Championship and the Prem. So whether a 5 nil away defeat or a 3 nil home defeat is better or worse is irrelevant. It's a question of how you respond against those setbacks. I think we have done well so far in that respect; yesterday was another clear example of that against a quality Man Citeh side. West Brom though are in a worrying situation. They are looking to play with a strong emphasis on the passing game and Mowbray seems unwilling (or unable) to vary his tactics. Every game they seem wide open at the back and poor at hitting the onion bag at the other end. Unless their tactics develop more flexibility they are doomed. We mix it up a lot although our main attacking tactic is to run the channels with Cousin and King with Geo filling the hole behind. But we can pass the ball as well and yes, we can play more directly. I think your season will be defined by your next two games. But in truth all three of us should have one aim and on aim only........17th! Oh and try to put our defeat against Wigan behind you, we have! It was a fluke where we had all but one of our new players missing and they had one of those days where everything they tried came off. I don't expect that to happen to us again this season, we have too much experience now.

Swanland, the reason your hammering by Wigan sticks in my mind is because it shows what can happen to any of us (you us or Brazil) if our eye is taken off the ball. The important thing is you bounced back like we have to on Saturday.
