Stoke City have been allocated more than 3,000 tickets for next Wednesday's third-round FA Cup replay at Newcastle United. They went on sale at the Britannia Stadium to season ticket-holders today before going on general sale from Saturday. Potters Foundation members can buy theirs on Friday.
The tickets are priced at £20 for adults, £15 for senior citizens and students, and £10 for juniors, but will not be available on the day of the match.
A season-high crowd of just under 23,000 fans were at the Britannia for Sunday's exciting 0-0 draw with the Premier League strugglers, and City are expecting tickets for Wednesday's replay at St James' Park (7.45pm kick-off) to be in demand.
To handle the expected rush, the club have extended the opening hours of their ticket office over the weekend.
Tickets will be available from 9am to 2pm on Saturday and from 10am until 2pm on Sunday.
The club are also laying on coach travel at £21 for non-season ticket-holders, £20 for season ticket-holders and £19 for students and OAPs. They are due to depart from the Britannia Stadium at 2pm.
However, for those wanting to travel in style, a limited number of places are available on the players' plane.
The Stoke squad will fly up to Newcastle on the day of the game ... and for £275 fans can join them.
Coaches leave the Britannia Stadium at 7am for a 10am flight from Manchester Airport.
The package also includes match tickets, a three-course meal and executive coach travel to and from St James' Park. For more information, call 07734844315

The away club are entitled to 15% which would be 8250 ish. BUT the home club are entitled to say that any tickets the away club ask for they MUST pay for. So it is common to have an initial allocation and then more allocation(s) if the original allocation sells out.

Ill be suprised if we sell all 3000 tickets. Its a mid week match and a fair distance to travel for a night match. Anyone going will need to take time off work/School. If they do sell them it would be a good following.

It would be a bit rich for them to charge us for unused tickets if we didn't do the same for their lot on Sunday.

You are having a laugh mate, we only took just over that to Arsenal on a weekend. There is no way we will sell our allocation for this game. I hope we do, I just can't see it.

ChesterStokie, Newcastle's problem according to some of their fans on another board is not that they expect to sell out (they don't) but that some/all of the extra seats above about 3,500 are currently occupied by season ticket holders who will have to be moved if we took, say, 5000. They just don't want the trouble of reticketing and moving their ST holders. Presumably if we were to take 8,250 (which we are entitled to do so) and the game WAS a sell out then some of the season ticket holders just wouldn't get tickets for the cup game.
