Lewis Buxton struck a second-half winner as Stoke's reserves came from behind this afternoon to beat Oldham Athletic 2-1 in a Pontin's League match at Newcastle Town's Lyme Valley Stadium.Stoke fell behind in the 13th minute when goalkeeper Danzell St Louis-Hamilton could only parry Matty Wolfenden's long-range shot, leaving Lewis Alessandra the simplest of tasks to fire home from close range.
Stoke replied in the 27th minute when Mark Grocott flicked the ball on to Vincent Pericard, who rounded the Oldham keeper before smashed the ball home.
And Stoke wrapped up a hard-fought victory in the 50th minute thanks to Buxton's powerful header from a Demar Phillips cross.
TEAMS
Stoke City: Louis-Hamilton, Buxton, Wedderburn, Pulis (Phillips, 63), Zakuani (Watson, 63), Broomes, De Laet, Thorley, Pericard (McDonald, 63), Grocott, Phillips. Not used: Ryan.
Oldham Athletic: Pogliacomi, Walsh, Black, Chalmers (Kilcourse, 63), Knight, Thompson (Fitzgerald, 22) Thacker, Pearson, Alessandro, Wolfenden, Dawson (Brook, 67). Not used: Bell, Owen.

Wasnt the best of games. The left back (Think it was Wedderburn) Is absolutly massive and quick too. Reminds me very much of Micha Richards. Very good prospect tow hat I see.
Demar, still looked alittle lightweight as in he went dwn under smallest of challenges, a little ronaldoesque But he can beat a man, or bot in todays case
Ricardo was there watching the gmae as was Tone and Rudgey. All seem in good spirit having a laugh and a joke.
PAsties all around after the game though lol

Vincent Pericard, who rounded the Oldham keeper before smashed the ball home.

That's what I thought Lighty! Round the keeper, he'd kick the ball round the keeper before it ended up towards the corner flag. Nice to see he can smash it home from a few yards, unless he rounded the keeper on the halfway line?

Will SCWorld start putting highlights up again? It's one of those things that they should regularly feature to make it feel like it's worth the (admittedly not massive amount of) money - seeing as we can get highlights free on Virginmedia and commentary free on that link.

Demar was excellent but he was knocked off the ball rather too easily. Still very good, though.
Btw has this been done before? Louis-Hamilton was in goal and is good at corners. I'll get me coat.
