Back again ! Gunslinger: Tak for din hilsen. Der er åbenbart flere skandinavier der skriver her. Rart at vide. Hvilken by er du fra og har du et hjemme favorithold ?

Welcome Bjarni, before the home match if you get yourself in the hotel bar before the game anytime after 1.30pm you'll find loads of Stokie more than happy to buy you a pint, or three!
See you there

Does anyone agree that he might be better off stopping up Castle way when he comes over? A few reasons really! 1. Hanley is a bit young, ie drinking, even in the supposed older places 2. Number of immigrent littering the town centre, day and night (not racial, just image) 3. Hanley is more Vale than Castle (in my opinion) 4. Closer to the ground 5. There is more trouble in Hanley at night time these days
This isn't a negative post, just some advice, I'd like him to enjoy his time here

Hei! Det er mange skandinaver her på MB. Selv bor jeg utenfor Oslo. Favorittlag i Norge er det dårlig med, men min kone er fra Fredrikstad så jeg må jo heie litt ekstra på dem.

Hej Danish Stokie. Tak for din hilsen.

I stayed in a B&B in Hanley, and one late night, I asked the bouncer in a nightclub: “would it be safe for me now, walking alone through Hanley, down to my "B&B”. He replied “No problem mate! As long you wear that Stoke City scarf you’ll be safe” I smiled and said thanks ! and went through Hanley feeling absolutely safe Great pubs you have but mostly important, you're a very very friendly people. ??? Bjarne, Hanley is like everywhere else in the world - There are good and bad people everywhere - i don't think you can rely on the advice from that bouncer. I hope you have a very good time when you visit. Watched Spurs v Aalborg at the end of last year - thought they were v good. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/7116153.stm

Hi Hi Bjarne
Nice to hear that Stokies exist as far north as Aalborg. I am aware of one in Randers when we had the pleasure of supporting AGF in the away derby at the Randers stadion I think 3 years ago when the football strike was on! AGF won 3-0, beer on sale for cash being sold during the match on the terraces home and away fans in colours mixed on the terraces- 10 out of 10 for the civilized Danes.
I've climbed Sky Mountain and touched the Jelling stone- would like to buy you a drink if possible. Enjoy your visit.

Cheers Marc01; I get your point, and I absolutely agree with you. When I told/wrote this story it was with a twinkle in my eyes. Understood; when I smiled to the bouncer, my smile was an ironic and a sense of humour smile..... hope you get it Marc :-) I've been around, and I know theres good and theres bad everywhere you go. All though I must say during my stay in Hanley last, it seemed very peacefully. And I did walk home alone, every night I went out in Hanley. Except once..... and I won't tell you about that, only that she was very nice :-) :-) and a Stoke City fan of course, otherwise it would have been out of the question... ha ha ha cheers Bjarne

hello again Mr. Onneravineet. Thank you for your reply. I will be there Tuesday around 1.30 before the game vs. Southampton. Looking forward to meet you. I have an appointment with a group of other Stokies around four o'clock, in an another place, but I will manage :-) By the way You really made me laugh; the GM & TP phone conversation. I'm still laughing. That was brilliant. And finally your name.... please, or is it Onneravineet ... cheers Bjarne

Hi again Marc01: I forgot to comment on your Spurs vs. Aalborg BK game. I was there at White Hart Lane, together with 1500 Aalborg Fans. We made a lot of noise and supported our team through out the whole game... Did you hear us ?

Hi Jamlander. Thank you for your story :-) Did you work in Denmark... where and for how long.... Comment to your story: In Aalborg its different. Aalborg vs. AGF Aarhus are a high risk game. Supporters of the two teams are separated. In fact all games in Aalborg, in the danish P.L., are with supporters of the two teams separated. Not so peace full anymore.... but its good for the atmosphere though. In Randers its different. Its a very nice place and theres no trouble at all. No one dislike the team and they are new in the topflight. But in general its very safe to go to games in Denmark. Finally I would like to have a beer with you too. Hope we could meet the Monday or the Wednesday when I'm over. Seems to be a lot of place in my program here.... Let me hear. Cheers Bjarne
