I wouldn't normally advocate this but if it was a deliberate elbow and I was Barnsley I wouldn't bother with the FA I'd just report Morgan to the police and let them charge him.

Chris Morgan always has been & always will be a filthy thug. I was disgusted when we were linked with him before the start of last season.

It comes as no surprise that Morgan is involved. A talentless carthorse who has made his career by playing in this way. How we can ever be called "thugs", "bullies" etc when you have players like him around is frankly ridiculous. Just imagine the outrage if such an incident happened in one of our matches!

Just seen the incident on sky, it certainly looks like it was intentional, there was absolutely no reason for Morgans elbow to be that high, he wasn't jumping for the ball, the guy should have the book thrown at him for that.

Just a yellow card and then a laugh about it at half time when asked by the manager for some protection, Durso wants fucking for this.
Hope the lad gets better soon.

Morgan has aways been and will always been a complete scumbag. Him and Paul Robinson sail the same ship. Get the police involved. Charge him. Disgusting excuse for human being. Hope Iain Hume recovers quickly.

There is a problem here with the rules and I hope Barnsley manage to get a court to rule on the problem. If a yellow card has been given then there is no way that a league panel will review the ref's decision although they might have done so if no yellow card had been given. At least that is my understanding of the position. This is plainly ridiculous and Barnsley should seek a judicial review of the rule to try to get it overturned. The situation in rugby seems far fairer where any incident (however it was or was not treated by the ref) can be reviewed by a panel after the game.
If I were Barnsley (or Hume) I think I would also be seeking civil damages through the courts. I think it is unlikely that a criminal case could be proven but a civil case might succeed.

Hume has always been an aggressive player and now looks to have paid a very high price for his style of play.

After our game with Arsenal, players & mangers said, players dont go out to hurt other players deliberately.Morgan seems to have hit that argument for six.

How the hell did Morgan not get a red for that? He's not just held his elbow up, he's viciously smashed it into the side of Hume's head with the intention to hurt him. How Chris Morgan has played in the Premier League is beyond me, the bloke is nothing but a thug. Lee McCulloch got it right when he popped his nose when they played Wigan a couple of seasons ago.

I hope Barnsley sue him for every penny the talentless twat has got.
There is no question whatsoever in my mind that he intentionally hurt the player.

Presumably the ref saw it, because he gave a yellow card, so he obviously thought Morgan intentionally elbowed him, therefore I don't see how it can be anything other than a red card for dangerous play,.... the inconsistency of refs truly is staggering at times.
I agree with Lakeland potter, that rule about not reviewing yellow cards seems stupid, it needs over turning.

Agree with Davey that Hulme could be in a mortuary now no thanks to Morgan the thug.A very nasty elbow indeed.
