Playing 'beautiful' football is something we all should aspire to and because both Wenger and Zola have this goal, it doesn't make them 'tossers'. I'm sure the Stoke manager also aspires to play beautiful football but in the meantime no doubt, he'll continue to send the lads out to play a hard but fair game.
In any case, I'm proud to say that I haven't read the article in the Sun and anyone who does should reserve the right to be misinformed.

I think if all this shit about the "beautiful" game is fair enough, its just another way of playing football, but why is our way of playing football wrong.
Its the same as all this equal rights and P.C bollocks, people just get carried away with it, we have a different style, get the fuck over it

Cloughie was one of the greatest managers this country has ever produced, but it didn't stop him putting the likes of Peter Withe, Gary Birtles and Justin Fashunu in his teams. I suppose none of his players ever lumped it forward to them at one time or another?
Looking at his MOTD interviews, Zola thinks everything is one big laugh. Well he'll be laughing all the way to the Championship if he doesn't get his head from up his arse.

Its all very well having beautiful football. But is it getting arsenal anywhere at the mo. NO!! They try to walk the ball into the net and against big strong defences, thats not going to work. All teams do what they need to do to win a game and our style (without hoping to jinx things) is working for us. I think Wenger forgets he used to have players like Viera that on their day were as rough as any other player!!!

it always annoys me when you hear pundits saying 'they play football in the right way' erm there shouldnt be a right and wrong way, to me winning games is the right way

Obviously where Stoke are concerned I don't care where the goals come from or how, aslong as we get the points.
That doesn't stop me appreciating the teams that do play the tippy tappy game well.
That said , I could watch Ricardo's goal against Villa over and over again and never get sick of watching it.

Yeah, it is great watching other teams play fancy football but when its Stoke it doesn't matter as long as we get the job done.
To be fair we can play good football and can knock it round as good as a few other teams in this division but its points we need to stay in this division and nothing else!

Another foreigner jumping on the foreign legion bandwagon. Zola has done fuck all at the Hammers anyway, he'll be sacked come the end of the season. Does make me laugh though with him agreeing with beautiful football,
This coming from the man who manages a team which has the likes of the following:
Lee Bowyer - Thug Craig Bellamy - Thug Lucas Neill - Cannot tackle for shit Scott Parker - Cannot tackle for shit.
A word of advice Zola, before you think about jumping on the sexy football bandwagon, have a look at your current squad.

We should all want to and aspire to play beautiful football and managers who do i personally believe should be comended not slated. That being said we can't all go out and spend 15-20 mill on individual players so if we want to compete we need to mix it up a bit and get them rattled. I've got lots of respect for Wenger and Zola because of their football but they should learn to take it on the chin when it doesn't work. However if we somehow establish ourselves as a regular Prem team and we're still kicking and rushing in say 5 or 6 years time then i'll be very disappointed with our tactics and style ... until then though Wenger, Zola and Clough should understand the divide in the top league these days and realise one style won't work for all teams.

what exactly did Zola say?
If he merely said something along the lines of admiring Arsenals style then whats the problem? Has he actually slagged Stoke off like Wenger has?

Its all well and good, but theres playing the "beautiful" game, and theres bitching and moaning when comes into contact with someone that can deliver 'silky skills', such as these two pricks.
