The (Horror) tackle on Adebayor

The tackle by Ryan on Adebayor is being portrayed as something it wasnt in this Times article, I know it wasnt the best of challenges but it certainly wasnt anywhere near as bad as this reporter is making it out to be. The report goes on to say :-

Not a single match report I read after the Stoke City game mentioned the horror challenge on Emmanuel Adebayor courtesy of Ryan Shawcross. I fail to understand how Ryan Shawcross was not even shown a yellow card, when in fact he should have been given his marching orders right there and then.

Let's take a specific look at the tackle: the ball is running out of play and Adebayor is shielding the ball, the ball has now ran out of play, past the line and is making its way to the rows of photographers, then out of the blue a sliding Mr. Shawcross comes in studs up, with his boot perpendicularly placed on Adebayor's ankle.

What a complete load of crap most reporters publish
