Just been up to pick some tickets up (no queues at all by the way) and a crane on hire from Longton cranes was just removing the last post holding up the old scoreboard, which was nowhere to be seen.
No sign of anything to replace it yet.

Mark- apparantly they need to strengthen the area where the new scoreboard will go (don't think it takes 6 weeks to do that though!) God bless you old scoreboard- what a way to end

The scoreboard has been banned for 12 months by the FA for deliberately showing Arsenal players the 2-1 final score, with with malice and intent to wound!

On the plus side (for those who can't get hold of or can't afford tickets) there's now a cracking uninterrupted view from "Gordon's Bank" to be enjoyed between now & when the new scoreboard goes up.

i believe it had to be removed so they an strengthen the footings and fit the supports for the new screen. I'd rather see it gone as i now feel that we are actually getting a new screen not just a promise.
Tbh though, i know there are far more important things to be concerned about like staying in the prem.

when my lad went on a tour of the stadium on a school trip, they were told that the foundations were in place in both corners for if they wanted to increase capacity,if they were in place i see no problem that the ground wouldnt be able to take a scoreboard!

Arsene moaned that it was faulty, cause it showed stoke 2 arsenal 1 and theres no way on this earth that that is correct. is it? And then accused the people in charge of the scoreboard that they were deliberately trying to bully his players by putting a wrong score on the board as to such gain an advantage because we were cowards and couldn't face losing to a team of such skill and power.

Whats a way to bow out, shame it couldn't stay at 2-0 though.

I'm really gonna miss it. It was one of those things that gave The Brit a bit of extra character. RIP old scoreboard

What is the point in having a new scoreboard, we never get any half-time scores now?
Just for adverts presumably!

Why can't they put it somewhere else if they can't keep it in place due to the footings or whatever? Attach it to the roof over the tunnel!

Jay, you stole my point!! Why can't they put it in one of the other unfilled corners, above the tunnel would be perfect, or between Booth and JS, so there is the score in both opposite corners?!

The corner where the old scoreboard was in a small grass bank actually inside the stadium (they keep a plastic sheet of adverts over it to cover it up.
They need to dig all that up and concrete over it before installing the giant screen.

Can we rename the slope the 'Lee Harvey Oswald and Arsene Wenger Memorial Grassy Knoll- the place where credibility came to die?'
Obviously we can perch a sniper up there too, to triangulate his fire with the one in the Boothen and the one shooting from TP's dugout. That may explain another mysterious Arsenal dip in form....pass it back, and to the left...back, and to the left....
