Official site have announced that tickets for the Walsall game are £10 (and £5 concessions). Apologies in advance if this is old news. At such a discount, it might even tempt 33 to cross the pond....

yeah, a good move by the board, should get 20,000 + and a good atmosphere and presumebly the walsall fans will get the discount and they will perhaps bring more than they would have originally.

At normal prices this game would have only attracted some 13,000 fans at the most. How many would have to turn out for stoke to make more money than they would if it was the normal price.

What do season ticket holders get?! The simple answer to that Smeegs is that seson-ticket holders get a 7-game discount before the season starts (assuming you bought before the first deadline?). The Club could run five more of these games and you'd still have saved money! It's better to get the fans in and behind the team than worry about what we get out of it all, especially as we still got the best deal going. To slightly corrupt something JFK once said: "Ask not what your club can do for you, but what you can do for your club!" Cheers, Smudge

Isn't it about time the whingers, the "I'm never going while that lot are in charge", The anti id carders and the " I would go but I'm not paying 20 notes to watch that cack brigade" finally got off their asses and backed this excellent offer?
In my book 20K would be fairly disappointing. 24/25 would reflect what a good gesture this is from the board

I'm with Romford on this given current run. no footy for 2 weeks potential 6 pointer. 24/5 would be good. however do we REALLY want a bog crowd, as we will get a big CROWD performance....... I am in negotiations for this one too. its all about give and take isn't it

We should get a good gate of 20 000 - 3 for me, my dad and my brother becasue it's my cousins wedding. And hopefully for once win a game with a good gate, even at reduced prices walsall won't bring many.
I'm with smeegs on this, what do us dedicated ST holders get. I think that we should get reduced away games for every reduced home game, or cup games or shop discounts.

no1 - why should other clubs give you a discount just 'cos you're a ST holder with Stoke? It's a tricky one, though. I assume that they factor in a number of reduced price games per season when they work out the ST cost, otherwise there's little point in a ST because you don't gain anything.... ??? I guess Smudge's reply to smeegs covers this issue.

Soz linx
I ment Stoke should pay for some of the ticket. Or give reduced coach tickets. I didn't mean other clubs give us rewards.

They do (in a round-a-bout way at least) give ST holders reduced coach ticket prices!
It's just that for some reason they don't enforce the 'non-members' prices and charge everyone for the price quoted for ST holders!
D'oh!

Yer i noticed that last year when me and my mate went to get a ticket. I was a ST holder and he wasn't but he still payed ST price. Never mind nothing we say on here right now will make a difference.

I'm with smeegs on this, what do us dedicated ST holders get. I think that we should get reduced away games for every reduced home game, or cup games or shop discounts. Season ticket holders already get the cheapest average ticket price over the whole season. Any season ticket holder who didn't predict the club would do one or two reduced price games over the season was just plain ignorant. And anyway, a season ticket is a completely different product to a one-match ticket: one lets you watch football for a whole season, in the guaranteed same seat and gets you other benefits, such as priority for away tickets; the other lets you watch one football match. It's rather silly to compare the average match price of a season ticket to the one-off price of a discounted match ticket becasue that one-off price is eactly that - a one-off. And let's look at it another way, what does the season ticket holder get when tickets are discounted for a one-off match? Simple, he/she gets a better atmosphere in the ground for NO extra cost. To put it bluntly, if you weren't happy with the price of a season ticket when you bought it, then you shouldn't have bought it. A season ticket guarantees you the cheapest possible way of watching every home match: that's the promise on which it's sold and that's what you still have. It seems everyone wants something for nothing these days.

they longer you are a season ticket holder you should get it cheaper and cheaper every year which would make people always renew season tickets

if it upsets people terribly the solution is not to get a season ticket... i'm not bothered by the reductions as i agree with smudge's comments above. what i would like though is to see a more sensible pricing policy for the food/drink in the stadium. but thats another can of worms ;D

It seems everyone wants something for nothing these days. Agree 100% with that, I'm an ST and have been since the 96/97 season and I never see any problems with the odd reduced price offer. Like Dave said the season ticket guarantees you a ticket for every game in the same seat, no more trecking down to the club shop or hanley store to buy tickets for every game. Plus discounts for unattractive games such as Walsall guarantees you a better atmosphere in a game where you would normally get a disappointing crowd. Win-win situation for me
