Oatcakes are the food of the gods............... even better than Roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding (and I was born in Yorkshire). Also better than kebabs (and I have an addiction to them). Check out this site for a list of all the Oatcake shops in Staffordshire. There are even files to download for your Sat-nav to direct you to your nearest Oatie shop. theoatcakeguide.co.uk/

Combine business and pleasure. Nip up Hanley and get in the market tavern. Sink a few ales and have your oatcakes as they are on the menu.

Got to be Cornhill, 41 Bemersley Rd, Norton. The owners a mate of mine and his recipe is the best IMO. You can get them in James Butchers down Baddeley Green. Filled aren't to special as they're microwaved (I have told him). Milton's good for filled although someone was telling me the bloke with the stall in Hanley are nice. Most of the supermarket ones like Poveys and Staffordshire oakcakes are shite. Nothing like the real thing.
My grandad used to have t-bone steak with kidney, done on a metal plate and dipped up with haf a dozen oatcakes. Bloody marvelous!
