Andy Wilkinson missed the 1-1 draw with Hull on New Year's Day due to a thigh strain but he is poised to hand Tony Pulis a timely boost by returning to contention this weekend.
"I've been struggling with a little thigh strain but I should be fit for Sunday," said the 23-year-old.
Stephen Wright's return to parent club Sunderland should see Wilkinson return to the Potters' starting line-up and the locally-born defender admits he is relishing the clash.
"The team spirit is probably the best I've seen at the club and I think we can go on and maybe cause an upset this weekend," he added.
The Potters, meanwhile, have confirmed young duo Adam Rooney and Ryan Shotton will remain out on loan at Chesterfield and Altrincham respectively for the rest of the season.
