Now we have Diao, I could never see the sense in buying Quashie - even more so at that price. If it makes it more likely that we get Whelan, then I'll be even more delighted.

It also has the same in The Star. It also has Diao set to play on Sunday, and Wolves looking at Earnshaw.

Earnshaw for Wolves is more believable (sadly) than coming here - ££££££££££
Diao for Sunday sounds good. - the crowd (as much as anyone else) needs a boost after the Hull game & if Fuller is playing AND Diao that would initself create a decent atmosphere I tink.

Stoke City midfielder Salif Diao has aggravated his troublesome left knee, and should find out the extent of the injury today.
Diao felt soreness on the side of his knee after he joined in with full training last week.
The 30-year-old completed the training session and travelled with the first-team squad to face Plymouth last Saturday, but his comeback was shortlived.
Diao explained: "I was in full training and my knee felt a bit unstable. I felt a little crack on the outside of my knee which was not caused by impact.
"It was sore for about 10 seconds, but I got through it and I thought I could play a match.
"I travelled to Plymouth, but when I woke up in the morning the knee felt sore so I went to hospital to have an MRI scan.
"The scan report should come back today. But I don't think it is anything major and it might only set me back a week."
Diao insists he could even be ready for City's mouth-watering FA Cup third-round clash with Newcastle United on Sunday, having continued strengthening work on the knee this week.
However, Stoke assistant manager Dave Kemp was a little more cautious. He said: "Salif had a bit of a knock-back last week, but he is positive about it.
"I'm sure he won't have a problem with it when he comes back to the main group to train, although we haven't set any targets for him."
After spending much of last year playing through injury, Diao is determined to enjoy a more prosperous 2008 after signing an 18-month deal to rejoin Stoke last month.
He explained: "It was disappointing getting injured, but the leg is really strong now. I'm looking forward to the new year."
Having already sold close to 20,000 tickets for Sunday's FA Cup clash with Newcastle, Stoke fans are reminded they have until 5.30pm on Saturday to buy their tickets. They will not be on sale on match day.
This was from another link earlier dont know how reliable it is tho?
