Just thinking, all of us who have these accounts are putting a lot of money into our club but just where does it go? Do any of you out there think that we should have an imput into where it goes as I personally would hate to think that some of it goes to paying the wages of certain players. I read a while ago the amount goes into £100s 0f thousands so why not let the people that get a lower interest rate in this account, compared to higher interest accounts, have a say where it goes.

It used to go towards the Academy. But sometime during the Icelanders reign they started to use the money as general income.
I don't see how you could give investors the say in how the money is used. Half the fans appreciate what Sidibe brings to the team the other half wouldn't pay him in washers. Most fans like Lawrence, there was a bloke on Saturday calling for the Hull players to break his leg. etc. etc. Each time we buy a player do you want the investors to be given a vote as to whether their money can be used to pay that player's wages?
If you don't want the money to be used as general income, don't invest in the account. Simple.

Forny You are quite right, as usual, it would be difficult to monitor the funds with regard to which player would get some of it but I would be very happy to go along with Bayern and the old system putting the money into the academy. As you again stated if I dont like it then get out, and do you know what I shall be doing tomorrow, your right again, its a high interest account with the Halifax. Thanks for the advice.

I'd rather trust SCFC with my money than give it to some Leeds supporting Halifax investor to put towards his season ticket.

It used to go towards the Academy. But sometime during the Icelanders reign they started to use the money as general income. No it didn't. It was advertised as "funding the academy" under the IceMen (who "started" the scheme - at SCFC - in the first place) but the money has never actually been ring-fenced for that sole purpose. All SCFC income goes into one big pot, and gets spent on stuff. ah

Forskin isnt correct,he argued with me the last time I broached this subject. The amount of money earned by the club is down and this years figure to the club is £700 od thousand pounds. You could simply insist that the money from your accounts must go to the running of the Academy,a great cause really.

money does go towards the running of the academy it costs about 900,000 to run the academy with only about 200,000 coming from the football league so the 750.000 from the account keeps it going.

Melon sorry but you're incorrect, as the Britannia Save & Support funds were originally directed to the Academy (as marketed), but are now used in the general account, hence the lack of funds towards the end of Pulis' last tenure and the threat to close the Academy down due to lacking of funding.

Just look at it this way, guys. You can invest your money in the BSASA and rest well knowing it is paying the wages of Pulis Jnr, Buxton, Broomes, Sweeney and Pericard, leaving the club to finance the 'proper' players. If you can get your mind around that, it sounds a good idea. OS.

It's a disgrace how these funds have been syphoned off when originally marketed for youth development and Peter Coates was on the board when the changes were made to the direction of the expenditure priorities. Again when the puffin munchers tried to close the Academy, he and Phil R stood up to them! Funnily enough though, didn't Pulis ask for the funding to be used for the first team and publically call for the Academy to be closed?

Whats even more annoying is Britannia are only giving us a max 3.9% AER with £50000 plus in a account and giving Manure 5.25% with only £1 in the account.
