Until this season it was almost a standing joke that we rarely scored from free kicks and corners. This year they have been a strong point in our play. Obviously having players like Cort and Shawcross has made a difference to our corners but that can't be the whole answer. Pugh's corner, from which Liam had a great shot saved, was an example of our much more imaginative approach and the freekick from which Liam scored at Barnsley is another example which is light year's ahead of anything we have seen before this season.
Anyone know who has taken over the responsibility for coaching the free kicks and corners? Is it Mark O'Connor - as he is the new face from TP's first time in charge?

Hi John
I don't know for certain but it almost always (at least on free kicks) seems to involve John Eustace. Perhaps his return to injury has allowed him to stamp more authority on our set pieces?
The Lawrence goal at Barnsley for example involved Eusty and I think he passed to Stephen Wright for the second equaliser at Scunthorpe. Pretty sure he helped set up an own goal at home to Plymouth?!

Yes, there may be something in that. Certainly our free kicks seem to involve Eustace, Pugh and Lawrence as the principle participants.

John, I can only think that old glassback (Paul Maguire) and Big Bren must have joined the coaching staff!
