Last season he brought them in on Xmas day, result was a dire performance on Boxing Day. This season he takes them away to a hotel on New Years eve to get away from the festivities, result a dire performance on New years day; A bit of a pattern emerging here? Can't TP trust them to be professional enough and look after themselves ? I would be hacked off if my manager kept me away like that when I'm big enough to look after myself.

Have to say I totally agree. Most of the lads I would expect would have prefered to be with their families and bearing in mind they have been away for most of Xmas would have been in everyones best interests.
I does smack of a lack of trust which is very sad. If one or two of the players had come in not prepared then throw the book at them but treat them like adults until anything happens.

It's got nothing to do with yesterday's performance, Stoke players spend the night in a hotel before every game whether it's home or away.

Why when they are at home? i know where I would rather be.
At home in my own bed or in a hotel. No brainer

What before every home match they stay in a hotel? No wonder we lose money, talk about pampering ! I regulary travel with work and I can never sleep the first night when in a hotel, even after a couple of beers. If any of them are like me they would be knackered before every game.
