Ratings between 1 and 10 for Pulis' tactics and all round performance against Hull.

3-we need pace and he bought on Pericard-he did crap today to be honest.

Tactics - 7 Performance - 6 Team selection and use of subs - 3 (based purely on my own anti PERICARD bias - and the fact that he (Pericard) is surely a fraudster earning money under false pretences)

3 as well, poor team selection and poor players on the bench!

2 - Can't believe he didn't play Cresswell & Mama upfront. Also left the substitution of Parkin too late in the game. Had other options on the left (Pugh or Deemar) but played Cressy there.
One big fuckup really.
Plus point. Somehow we didn't lose.

Mine would have Demar on the left with Cresswell up front-a much better team imo!

Thats a good one, but why change a team unbeaten in 10?

6 Should have played Cress up top and maybe tried Demar later on as we were struggling to stretch their back four. Also strange decision to play Wright when he knew that he was off after today, Zak is here all season so it may have been better to play him especially given Wrights injury record and generally poor displays for us of late. A draw not the end of the world though.

Because we had to change it anyway!

lawt, the team had to change anyway (no Fuller or Wilko) the question is why Parkin...and later on why Pericard, in fact, one question that has been on my mind all season is...why Pericard?

Post by stokecityscott on Jan 1, 2008 20:54:31 GMT
Why ? besides wilko and fuller? we all know were nothing without Fuller, i couldn't see any other selection changing the result.

Because Cressy is our only other forward that can score goals (8 so far) and yet he is preferred on the wing to 2 strikers that have 1 goal between them this season.

So you don't think having Cresswell up front would have been better? Did you go to palace?

5 today, wrong team started for me.
If we're going to always persist with just one up front he has to be a bit more mobile than Parkin.

lawt, With respect mate I'm gobsmacked you couldn't see that we needed Cress up top as nearly everybody in the ground knew that we would have ZERO threat up front with Mama and Parkin. Cress is totally different to Ric but IS a goal threat and with Ric missing we were desperate to have someone to give us an attcking option.

A home draw against Hull is NOT a good result. It's not an "end of the world" result either though.

I thought that you said the selection was right though, it clearly wasn't, as due to Parkin and Sidibe we never looked like scoring from open play. When you have players missing I always think it best to play your strongest team available and I don't think we did today, I made the same point after Bunley which was a very similar game to today.

6, his hands were tied to some degree.
But would have put cressy up front and pugh on the wing.
All this thing about demarr phillips, only seen him as sub once and he looked woefully lightweight. Reserve matches totally different kettle of fish compared to 1st team. Pericard even scores in reserves!

He's not fucking lightweight! He's small but rides tackles and keeps the ball!

I wouldn't start with Demar potters but why put him on the bench if you don't even think he could do 20 minutes for us? (In fact why sign him at all?)

bayern-- and how do you know this? Like i said reserve footy dont really count unless you stand out like a sore thumb from the rest and dont think he does of yet?
