Right now I've actually defrosted and can feel my fingers again i thought I'd better sit and write my thoughts on today's game...
Nice to have Ade, GNW, Ed and Taggart back in the starting line up, after Tuesday's poor showing we really needed them back. The difference they make shows.
Also nice to see Clint Hill making the bench after a successful run out in the reserves on wednesday.
First half I did actually feel we were quite poor to start off with. As Tuesday night, the same mistakes were repeated and we gave WFC far too much space down the middle of the park! It is just a good job their shots are lousy!
Last 5 or 10 minutes of first half though and we picked up ou form, and as Tone said had enough chances to win "2 or 3 games". Thought if we could nick a goal just before half time or shortly after we'd win.
Thankfully the lads came out in the second half with the kind of spirit that served us well for last part of first half and got the goal we deserved (and needed to settle us travelling fans nerves)
I am pleased for GNW to get back on the scoresheet as think his confidence has been a bit down lately. I still don't think he is 100% fit but hopefully a bit of confidence and he will start picking up form again.
Great win and as I said Wednesday I prefer the three points today in th eleague.
Kris commons again caused problems when he came on. Wimbledon just don't seem to know what to do when he comes on apart from foul the poor lad.
As for Johnson's sending off - i'm not sure what it is for. Also do not know what Ed's booking was for (did he retaliate agfter being shoved over?) I think at that point the referee lost control of the game and should have just blown for full time.
Man of the match: Eustace stood out in a poor midfield, GNW showed some return of his early season form and John Halls again shows why he's been on arenal's books. I can't choose one.
Oh and just as an extra note. Wombles managed a massive 3,600 odd today (728 Stokies!) whilst Hull (yes HULL) managed 21,000)

Thanks for that Becks, my first league match missed since the West Ham away win today, and I was a bit at not being there. Instead I've been out for a formal meal with a some of stuck-up student types (and a couple of sound people) tonight and hated it! Once a Stokie, always a Stokie and all that...not sure how I managed to boycott in the first place. Anyway, that summary will tide me over until Smudge's report, so cheers! And Hull is the 7th biggest city in England I think, so even if they are in Division Three they should be getting fairly big crowds. Oh yeah, I read a report which said it was only Taggart booked and not De Goey, so whether it just looked like Ed was booked to those there (and thats why you, Smudge and a couple of others have been questioning the booking) I don't know. I'll have another look at the reports. That is all! ;D (I'm a little drunk due to having to talk to this muppet all night- not Gonzo, Animal or Miss. Piggy if anyone's wondering- so I dunno how this message will come out)
