I posted on the "seen at the ground" thread this morning, that Eriksson had been speaking to the ubiquitous "source at the ground" who claimed we had bid 500k for Whalley. Maybe something in it.

Let's hope it's true then. He's a right-sided player naturally so it would mean either him or Lawro playing on the wrong wing. But I think both players are skilful enough not to let it worry them.

Unless Pulis has earmarked him to play in the middle, which I personally would love to see.

agreed he is a decent player and certainly a more natural winger than anything we have at the club at present (including the excellent Lawrence whose is more a wide midfielder than a winger). I can't see TP playing either he or Liam in the middle so presumably it would mean one or the other playing out of position which renders it a rather strange signing.

Lads, i think we need another right sided player, not left.

On the left we have cresswell, pugh and phillips, on the right we only have lawrence with maybe delap.

if lawrence gets injured we are stuffed!

Lawrence played on the left quite a bit last season and did ok

WELL THERE YOU GO, thats another player who can play on the left. we definitely need someone on the right even if to give more competition on that side of the field.

Now bring on a attacking centre midfielder.
