Looks like Wilkinson's for the axe tomorrow, but surely Pulis must turn to Zakuani and not Wright who is quite frankly a waste of space.
He appears to be tinkering with the full-backs to often for my liking at the moment, it's no coincidence that we were conceding less goals with as settled back four

wright
he has been injured in every game he has played in , looks like a good right back to me, when fully fit that is.

and that is precisely why Pulis has dropped him. Playing him would just be irresponsible..................

I like Zak as a central defender but not so much as a fullback. I've seen Wright play well but I've also seen him play poorly. He'll probably slot Delap into that spot, move Cresswell into the middle and play Parkin on the left wing. OS.

Wright- he needs matches to get fit and then stay fit, if and when he does he is actually a very good fullback.
Zakuani- Excellent centre half but not a full back at all, his distribution and positioning isnt good enough

I have said before I would prefer Zak over wright but I think that the Delap option is a good shout but only if Salif is ready for an outing.

I don't understand the assertions that Wright is a good full-back. He has not had a decent game for us in the whole time he has been here. He is off the pace, his positioning is terrible, and his decision making can be called into question on a number of counts. He can tackle well, and his heading is decent.
I'd prefer either Zac or Delap over Wright.

I said last night it should be Delap to full back now, freeing up a spot in central midfield for Diao to start coming back. Or possibly start with Wright and once he gets injured bring on Diao and shift Delap there.

Wright has quite frankly been a complete waste of a loan and akin to when Pulis signed Williams or Whitley.
Wright is always out of position, can't pass, and struggles to complete 60 mins. If Wilko is out Zak can fill that role if Pulis is tempted to push Rory back there.

As far as I can make out, the question doesn't involve Delap, so between the two, I prefer a full-back at full-back, which means the answer is Wright for THAT position. IMO, he is a decent player, who will get better with more pitch minutes under his belt.

Wright.
I'm in the minority too. I think there may well be a decent full-back in there if he can get over all these little niggles and get a prolonged run of games.

Wright has had a few good games but between injuries he's looked poor.

Sentinel says Zak is odds-on to fill in tomorrow, but Wilko has a chance of being fit for the Newcastle game.
Personally, I'd send Wright back tomorrow.

I think Wright has been fairly mediocre for the most part - however, felt he had his best game against QPR where their reasonably highly rated left winger (Sinclair from Chelsea) barely had a sniff all game. I think he's failed to feel settled in the side due to the constant niggles, and, even when he has featured in the side, he looks short of fitness to me.
I'd send him back in view of it being unlikely he will form part of a settled back line.....crucial in being strong defensively.

Wright HAS had decent games for Stoke but not for ages.
Zak away from home is more useful as he isnt going to contribute to forward play. Defensively very sharp - positioning seems OK to me.

Zaks distribution isnt up to playing full back so in the absence of other options, Id have to go for Wright.

Do we need to sign a new rt back? It's a specialist position and Zac/Delap is not the answer.
4 players needed imho, rt back, centre mid, left mid/wing, striker.
