www.nufc-forum.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=16431.0this one is funny, there predictions for there next 4 games Chelsea: I don't know. Chelsea have a lot of players out. Man City: They beat us with ease last time and they will do the same again. Stoke: They are a big side. We could'nt deal with the power of Howard and I don't think we will be able to deal with the power of some of the Stoke players. I think Stoke could sneak this on a set play. Man Utd: THEY WILL f***ing KILL US!

Doubt it, not exactly getting plaudits for flowing carpet football are they?
We might just cancel each other out.
Im expecting Owen to come on and Shawcross to put him out with a crunching tackle.

I'd prefer it if they thought they were going to hammer us to be honest, the more hubris the better.

I remember sitting behind the dug out, v Sheff Wed, and tony shouting to dicko or wilko, to take Jeffers out, hey presto, on comes the life boat for him.

Its nice that they are worried about playing us but they obviously haven't seen our FA Cup record against sides from the top flight.

It' the FA Cup, we are only allowed to be on the receiving end of upsets, it's the law. I predict a similar outcome to Chelsea, Aresnal and Everton games. We'll lose by a narrow margin but won't create a thing.

There is no way we will win this game.
a) It's the FA Cup
b) We're playing the part of "giant killer"
c) There will be a big, expectant crowd there
d) We're on the telly
It'll end like it always does...plenty of chances for us, a gallant showing, but in the end, a 0-1 defeat to a side who, on paper, should wipe the floor with us.

And its all made worse because in the build up we start to think this time it'll be different....when its always exactly the same.

Remember the cup tie v Walter Smith's Everton a few years ago? We were doing well in the league, Everton were doing really badly with the knives out for Smith. It had cup upset written all over it. Cue Alan Stubbs with the one goal that settled it to keep Smith in his job for the rest of the season. Always remember - This is Stoke and the FA Cup

to be honest, apart from fulham last season the last few times we have played top flight teams in the cup, we have not done that badly:
arsenal: lost 2-1 but hit the bar at 1-1 and greenacre had a shot cleared of the line.
birmingham: only beat us 1-0 due to us failing to score
newcastle are really in an awful run and there is no better time to play them. i can't wait for the game.

Completely irrelevant what happened under a previous manager, team etc
Personally would be delighted with a draw, big gate up there and show some metal.
Don't expect to win but no shame in defeat. Newcastle have great players and hope we do ourselves proud- despite the Sam Issue they still have quality we can only dream of-still is a one off and let's get behind them. I expect a 1-2 loss but no disgrace

Thing is in that Everton game Duncan Disorderly dived for the free kick Stubbs scored from. And if he hadn't dived......Everton would still have won.
There is something fascinating about Newcastle United and their ongoing struggles and striving for a trophy. They are so desperate. And so often so near yet so far.

To be far this is the game that all neutrals are hoping stoke win . Although mnay of us albion fans are still bleeding from our annual defeat to you shites, may not be.
if my missus had not gone at length about your almost supernatural bad luck in the cup i would not be supprised if you did get a result.
you won't though , but i think you guys are happyier thinking that anyway.
but heres hoping you will give all those fat replicer shirt wearing super fans an uncofortable time at the brit.
goarn stoke
Wba forever

Just can't see it but big crowd, TV etc nice to get the exposure and see Stoke live here in Asia A good performance, a new face or two and then back to what matters Making them baggies settle for 2nd place ;D Strange the FA Cup doesn't get me going- bit like when I watched 'The Fantastic 4 ' film- expected little and sat watching a lot less than I expected Maybe because we're not a good FA cup team and got used to it Maybe next year they'll make a 'Green Lantern' film and I'll be on tenderhooks the day before we play Grimsby ;D Anyway fella- good luck for the rest of the season and catch you for a beer before our Prem game at the Brit
