Driving back home today from seeing relatives and bumped into Neil Warnock at a service station. Actually a decent bloke and was more than happy to talk to me. Informed me that Palace have signed Routledge on a short team deal and that the Leon Cort deal is definitely signed, sealed and delivered. He has a nice car aswell! Anyway, take from it what you will.

thats really pleasant to here about mr warnock, always thought he was a miserable git but nice that he took the time to talk to you. good news about cort, think he is a good signing, just depending on how much we pay for him now.

Whatever we pay for Cort will be offset by £500k we get for Clint Hill. I'd say we'll pay a little over £500k net.

Do managers usually reveal transfer dealings to Joe Bloggs on a service station?

I was never really convinced by the Routledge rumour anyway.
I mean look at the facts. Started at Palace, moved to Tottenham, then to Fulham on loan, then to Portsmouth on loan and now apparently back to Palace on loan.
See the pattern developing?

Pigs do fly! Do you think TP would reveal to any old person, who he was signing!? NO! Warnock surely wouldn't!

Pattern also that he's never played for a club north of London, so unlikely to move up here.

Wayne has at no point shown any interest in coming to Stoke. He is a lifelong Palace fan, and would go back there if they can match the money offered by others. He's 18 months to run on his Spurs contract. Spurs have however told him he can leave if he can find a new club, although at present they say they will hold out for a £3,000,000 transfer fee! His new agent is former player George Ndah and Ndah is trying to put together a deal to complete during the window. At present Palace are trying but are a million miles away on the wages front. However there is another London team, recently flush with untold riches who have now made a move and are confident they can get him to drop a division if they pay him enough, and see money as 'no object'. The numbers mentioned to me yesterday were staggering and way out of our league, I'd suggest twice what anybody else gets at Stoke, if not three times. I'll let you work out who is splashing the cash in London town but it's made Wayne sit up and take notice, as we all would if we could be made for life in just a couple of years. Martin O'Neil is also a long time admirer although if Villa was happening he (Wayne) thinks it would have happened by now. Horse's mouth.

Correct mate. We enquired about him in the summer and he said he didn't want to leave London to play in the Championship. It would be nice to think our form this season could make him change his mind but there'll be enough interest from London clubs to ensure we get nowhere near him.
