Just heard this awful news, RIP.
Didn't another Scottish player die on the pitch a few years ago, was it Davie Cooper? Think that may have been in training though.

Very sad indeed. Does anyone know how Clarkey's doing these days? It is strange to have so many incidents of this nature.

RIP real shame that this is happening more frequently, Marc Vivien Foe suffered the same fate several years ago. my thoughts are with his family and friends.

Not sure it's happened that much in the professional game has it ? ( thankfully, obviously )
I recall Foe and the italian (spanish ?) incident earlier this season, but before that I can only remember York City's centre-forward, David Longworth, collapsing and dying in the first half about 15 years ago
RIP to Phil though, and sincere thoughts to his family

Obviously it's too early to tell what killled him.
These incidents make the headlines nowadays but only because news travels faster now. However it is still a rarity but that's no consolation.
My thoughts are with his young family. R.I.P. Mr. O' Donnell

Terribly sad news which must be personally devastating for his friends and those who loved him.
Very few of us will be able to choose the time and the manner of our demise. And for many of us we would consider it 'too soon.'
I think that when we consider our final moments it is perhaps preferable to finish our allotment doing something we enjoyed?
Obviously there will be much pain for those left behind and our sympathies go to them.
