Nicely put though....gives him a chance to 'recharge his batteries' 8-)Actually, a good idea...as long as Hoult doesn't go Grobbelarresque

It was reported that Simmo had a knock at the Barnsley game. Occurred to anyone that he may not actually be fit?!

only just got in and that is the worst news I could have heard today. A poor simmo is still twice as good as an in form hoult. At least simmo is there to replace him in the middle of the first half!

Me neither - not when a desperately short of games Hoult is the alternative.
All seems needlessly disruptive, and a blow to Simo's long-term confidence.
Let's face it, Hoult is no long-term answer to the keeping position, whereas Simo might be.

They did say he'd picked up a knock. Don't think it'll do him any harm....as long as Hoult doesn't do us any harm!

But Kemp implied the knock was nothing to do with the decision to 'rest' him. I just hope this doesn't come back to bite us on the bum

Simmo has got to be aware he is not automatic choice if he is dropping a bollock or two, what it does tell him is that he has to be accountable for mistakes and the manager believes 3 goals in recent games were his fault. Regardless of what we think the manager picks the team and he obviously thinks that Simmo needs a rest. Come on Houlty do us a good job youth.

So what did Kemp say then regarding Simmo's rest?

Well done Tone! We can't afford to be playing a goal keeper who is not in form.
Paul Robinson was backed by McClaren and look what happened.
Hoult is a decent keeper and has been given a chance to get his career going again.
Come on Stoke!

official site confirms simo 'dropped'
Tony Pulis has handed Russell Hoult his City league debut after dropping Steve Simonsen to the bench.
The former Everton stopper had made 108 consecutive starts for the Potters.
The City boss has named an otherwise unchanges side for the top of the table clash at Home Park, with hat-trick heroes Ricardo Fuller and Liam Lawrence looking to continue their current goalscoring run.
Former Potter Lee Martin, who spent six months on loan at the Britannia Stadium, returns to the starting line up for Plymouth after overcoming an injury.

Bayern Kemp basically said that Simmo has played 108 games on the trot and needs to recharge his batteries, no injury just needs the rest.
