5 points from the Xmas games is excellent but only if we take 3 against Hull. If we beat Hull we will have amassed 8 points and averaged 2 points a game. That's promotion form. I'm quite happy with the points haul at the mo.

we've now got no keeper to put on the bench for the next couple of games better hope simmo doesn't get a knock or sent off now!
wouldn't have had that problem if simmo, one of,if not THE best in our league .,had've started !!

me 2 oldstokie promotion form indeed there's 33pts available if we win all home games plus a few more draws puts us 80pts plus playoffs at least

look we've had 2 games against teams where we have not wn 4 20 plus yrs and got 2 points from the four we have played over xmas we have 5pts so far 3pts against hull and that gives 8pts from 12 very respectable and promotion form What's happened over the past twenty years has nowt to do with anything. There's is some serious concerns in defence, and a spark missing in our build up play. Now is the time to address this whilst we are getting away with it (pretty much). To ignore it would be foolish because we have picked up some points. That won't continue unless we do.

What will happen when we get injuries and suspensions in the run up?

Simonsen did not save a pen.
Agree with the opinions above - a decent point, providing we beat Hull. Beating Hull will not be a straightforward process and we will need to be up for the game.

Parksy, that's where the January window will be crucial for us. We know the money is available. It's up to Pulis now to bring some players in who will compliment this team. I reckoned that if we could still be in touch come the new year, with the right additions, we should do it. Let's deal with Hull now and then strengthen the side.

We have a few decent players already here. Fuller, Cresswell, Sidebe and Parkin are not a bad forward selection (although it would be great to add a pacey, six yard box kind of player to that).
Midfield is the issue, we have lawrence, thats it. We need a good left winger and a very good attacking centre-midfielder, if Salif gets fit, that would be like a new signing. We need him a lot to protect a fragile defence.
A new full back would certainly help as well for competition and to get some experience back there.
It's going to be a huge january, lets hope we dont get let down like last season and also the famous days of Macari and Leicester in the play-offs.
This could be our season.

Agree Mick, but it is the history of the transfer "windows" that worry me at the moment. He has hardly a list of magical transfers at the right moment, just keeping my fingers crossed that he will pull something out of the bag this time. I agree that with the right signings now we really do have a chance this time.
